Is there an undeniable favorite in the final match of the Rotterdam competition between Carlos Alcaraz and Alex de Minaur? The main question we wish to answer in detail in our prediction. Under the closed roof, the tennis players have never faced each other before, which slightly complicates the analysis process.

One of the first feats at the professional level for Alcaraz was noted indoors (triumph at the Next Gen Finals). However, his adaptation to conditions is far from perfect. Moreover, after losing to Novak Djokovic in the decisive stage of the Paris Olympics, Carlos has clearly lost confidence in his abilities, at least partially, which prevents him from dominating competitors in his former manner. At the recent Australian Open, the Spaniard did not come close to the championship (top-8), losing to the same Serbian genius. Just recently, the athlete spent two and a half hours with Hubert Hurkacz, not allowing a single break point in the crucial set.

De Minaur expended much less energy on his way to the title, winning all four games cleanly. Partly, Alex's easy walk is due to a comfortable draw. But he deserves no criticism for it. The Australian has started to impose his pace more often, which allows him to avoid losing initiative as much as possible. The athlete's serve is also working properly, as clearly seen by the statistics (one break for the tournament and less than a quarter of lost points on the first serve).

In this match, de Minaur, in our humble opinion, will give Alcaraz substantial resistance. Alex has saved significantly more energy for the decisive fight, and we expect that he will not let Carlos resolve all issues without adventures. A victory for the Australian with a handicap of +3.5 is our preferred option for the match.
