Fountain Gate FC is a Tanzanian football club with an unusual route from corporate football to the country’s top division. The club began in 2010 as Diamond Trust Bank FC, a team originally created for employees of the bank. Strong results in local bank tournaments encouraged greater investment, and DTB FC later entered Tanzania’s national football system.
A major change came in 2022, after DTB FC secured promotion to the Tanzanian Premier League. The bank then left club ownership, and investors from Singida acquired the team under the Singida Big Stars name. In its first Premier League season, the club finished fourth and earned a place in the CAF Confederation Cup. That achievement gave the team its first opportunity to test itself against clubs from outside Tanzania.
Fountain Gate Academy later acquired Singida Big Stars, which led to another change in the club’s identity. The team became Singida Fountain Gate before the shorter Fountain Gate FC name appeared from 2024. CAF records confirm its continental campaign under the Singida Big Stars identity during the 2023/24 Confederation Cup. The club has since remained part of Tanzania’s Premier League, with Kwaraa Stadium listed as its home venue.
