Inter vs Udinese Prediction 14 September 2026
📢 Inter and Udinese will close out the fourth round of fixtures in Serie A. The Nerazzurri have begun their title defence with three consecutive wins and will certainly be looking to extend that run. Udinese should not be underestimated, though - the visitors have also made a decent start to the season and will not give up points without a fight. The Giuseppe Meazza factor does, however, tip the scales noticeably in Inter's favour.
🔁 We will be updating this prediction on match day. The Latest News section will cover any important developments before kick-off.
Head-to-Head
📊 Over recent years, the two sides have met 40 times. Inter hold a commanding advantage: 26 wins to Udinese's 9, with 5 draws. Last season, each team won away from home: Udinese first caused an upset by beating Inter 2-1, before Inter took revenge with a narrow 1-0 win.
Head-to-head statistics Inter - Udinese

Inter Milano Team Overview
🔵 Inter can be fairly satisfied with their results at the start of the season. They won all three of their opening league matches, picking up the maximum nine points - a record matched only by Roma and Lazio. They have also already tested themselves against a top opponent: in the previous round they faced Napoli and beat them 3-2. Although Inter had to come from 2-0 down, the result reflected the game's content - they looked the better side throughout all 90 minutes.
⚫ That said, Inter go into this match in less than ideal spirits. After the Napoli game, the reigning Italian champions travelled to Real Madrid in the Champions League and lost 1-2. It should be said, though, that Inter looked no worse than the record winners of the competition and did enough to deserve at least a draw. Their goalkeeper's reliability let them down slightly - in one moment Josep Martínez hesitated on the ball, lost possession and conceded a goal.

Udinese Calcio Team Overview
⚫ In recent years, Udinese have been re-establishing themselves as a solid mid-table side in Serie A. They had a very decent campaign last season and have made a reasonable start to the new one. In the Coppa Italia, for instance, the Zebrette have won two matches and reached the Round of 16. In the league they have picked up just four points, but given the difficulty of their fixture list so far, that is a fair return.
⚪ Udinese's only defeat in official matches this season came last weekend against Lazio (1-2), who have been picking up points consistently. That loss was particularly frustrating given that the advantages were on Udinese's side: home ground, and the fact that they scored first. They could not hold on to the lead, though, and conceded a second goal late in normal time. That said, looking at the match statistics, the final scoreline appears a fair reflection of the game.

Latest news
Inter Milano
❌ Inter still have one injury concern: Jed Spence continues to recover from a shin injury, but has returned to training, so his comeback is expected in the near future.
🔁 Update - 14 September, 4:56 UTC:
- Cristian Chivu spoke positively about Andy Diouf's performances, with the coaching staff increasingly using him across the entire right flank: "Our goal is to get him to the point where he can play 80 minutes at a high tempo instead of 60. He gives us extra options." The Italian media have been full of praise for the 23-year-old Frenchman, with the view that Inter have managed to cover the loss of Denzel Dumfries almost without issue. Diouf has made three appearances this season, including the recent Champions League match against Real Madrid. Bookmakers are offering odds of 4.7* on Diouf to register an assist in the upcoming match.
Udinese Calcio
❌ Udinese head into matchday four with several players unavailable. Jakub Piotrowksi remains out due to a health issue. Juan Arizala, Oumar Solet and Matteo Palma are recovering from injuries and are expected back towards the end of September. Nicolò Zaniolo is also ruled out with a muscular injury, while Alessandro Zanoli continues a lengthy recovery from a cruciate ligament rupture and is not expected back until mid-October.
🔁 Update - 14 September, 10:42 UTC:
- Kosta Runjaic has confirmed that midfielder Giorgi Chakvetadze is fit again after injury. According to the manager, the Georgian has been training with the group and may get some minutes off the bench against Inter. Lazar Jovanović is less advanced in his preparation, but the Serbian could also feature.

⚽️ Goals Prediction
Head-to-head meetings between Inter and Udinese have tended to be high-scoring in recent years. Total Goals - Over 2.5 has landed in 8 of their last 9 Serie A matches. In the current season both sides score regularly, though neither has been particularly reliable defensively. We are not expecting this match to be any different, and that selection is priced at 1.55*.
🚩 Corners Prediction
For those who like betting on set-piece markets, there is an option on Total Corners - Under 10.5, priced at 1.53*. This bet has come in in 6 of the last 7 head-to-head meetings between these two sides. If Inter also take an early lead, they will have little need to generate a high volume of corners, which would make this one straightforward.
🟨 Yellow Cards Prediction
There is a price of 1.50* on Udinese to receive more yellow cards, and that is worth considering. Inter are clearly the stronger side and should control possession for most of the match, which means the visitors will spend a lot of time without the ball. In those circumstances Udinese are likely to break up attacks with fouls more frequently, and some of those will result in bookings.
🚀 Player Stat Bet
After a tough trip to Real Madrid, Inter may well rotate their squad. Francesco Pio Esposito, who started the season in the first XI, did not get a single minute against the Spanish side, so there is a decent chance he starts from the off against Udinese. The young striker has made a bright impression in all three of his Serie A appearances, and against Monza he contributed a goal and an assist. Against that backdrop, a bet on Francesco Pio Esposito to Score at 1.83* looks an interesting option.
😱 Risky Bet
Inter have so far been alternating between very high-scoring matches and more modest ones. The games against Monza and Napoli both produced five goals, while only one was scored against Cagliari and three against Real Madrid. If that pattern continues, the next match should be another high-scoring affair. With that in mind, our risky selection is Total Goals - Over 4.5 at 3.90*.
🎯 Safe Bet
If you prefer to avoid risk, the safer option is an Inter win at 1.29*. The Nerazzurri have won 8 of their last 9 home head-to-head meetings with Udinese, and they are currently in good form. There is not much reason to expect this trend to be broken.
👀 If the Match Goes Off Script
The possibility of Inter dropping points cannot be ruled out entirely. The demanding trip to Real Madrid will have taken a physical and emotional toll on the squad, and Udinese will look to take advantage of that. The visitors are capable of sitting deep and holding out against sustained pressure for long periods. If the Nerazzurri struggle to create chances from the opening minutes, it may be worth looking at Udinese not to lose at 4.15*.

⭐️ Editorial Prediction
The bookmakers make Inter clear favourites, and we fully agree. The reigning Italian champions are noticeably superior to their opponents in quality, hold a significant advantage in head-to-head meetings, and have been reliable in attack. However, since Yann Sommer's departure there have been problems at the back: in four official matches, the team have kept a clean sheet only against Cagliari. Udinese, for their part, have scored in all of their matches and are capable of causing the hosts plenty of trouble. Our main bet is therefore Both Teams to Score - Yes. The expected score is 3-1.
