    Bodo/Glimt Team Overview

The Norwegians come into the second leg in excellent form. Since the summer break, Glimt have won six matches in a row in the league, and including the first match against Union their unbeaten run stretches to seven games. In the Eliteserien, Kjetil Knutsen's side scored 15 goals and conceded just one across those six wins.

The latest victims were Vålerenga - on 8 August Bodø won away 2:1. The main change in attack came before the season started: last year's top scorer Kasper Høgh joined Celtic. His role is increasingly being taken on by Andreas Helmersen, who has already scored six goals in the current Eliteserien campaign. Lukas Haråen and Ole Blomberg also remain significant threats.

A separate factor is Aspmyra. In last season's European campaign, this is where Bodø/Glimt beat Manchester City, Inter and Sporting. The home advantage genuinely matters for the Norwegians, especially when the opposition have to play on artificial turf and adapt to unfamiliar conditions.

    Union Saint-Gilloise Team Overview

Union come into the second leg no less confident. The Brussels club started the new season by beating Bruges on penalties in the Belgian Super Cup, then demolished Westerlo 5:1 in the first round of the league. Promise David, Raul Florucz and Rebelinho Mofokeng all scored in that match, and the team as a whole showed a high attacking potential.

Raul Florucz's form is particularly interesting. The Romanian attacking player has scored three goals in the two previous official matches of the season, including a brace in the first match against Bodø/Glimt. David has also already scored twice at the start of the season. It is this partnership that will pose the main threat to Nikita Haikin's goal.

In the first match, Union already showed they are capable of causing serious problems even without sustained territorial dominance. However, after conceding a goal in stoppage time, the Belgians lost the chance to travel to Norway with an advantage. Now they need to withstand Asmyra's pressure while not abandoning their own attacking approach.

    Latest news

    Bodo/Glimt

❌ There is also a personnel loss in midfield: Håkon Evjen continues to recover from a knee injury and, according to the latest information, may not return until September.

    Union Saint-Gilloise

❌ Union's squad changed significantly in the summer. The team lost goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen, who joined Ipswich, while experienced defender Christian Burgess moved to Gent. Key midfielder Adem Zorgane missed the last two matches through injury, and Anan Khalaili is close to leaving the club.

    🟨 Yellow Cards Prediction

The two teams differ noticeably in their disciplinary statistics, and the first head-to-head match showed exactly that. Five yellow cards for Union and just two for Bodø. The Norwegians are among the most disciplined sides in Eliteserien - on average, the team receives just around 0.65 yellow cards per match. The Brussels club's figure is significantly higher: this season, the "unionists" are picking up around 2.6 bookings per game.

The return match scenario should be more nervy than a regular league meeting. Progression to the next round is at stake, and the first-leg scoreline left both teams in a perfectly level position. Union will have to stop the hosts' quick attacks more frequently, while Bodø will actively use a high press and transitions. Bet: total over 3.5 yellow cards.

    ⚽ Goals Prediction

The first match produced six goals and exposed the vulnerability of both defences. Right now there are not many reasons to expect a sharp shift away from attacking football. Bodø scored 15 goals in their last six league matches, and Union started their season with five goals against Westerlo.  Even if a cautious opening to the return leg drags on, space should open up immediately after the first goal. Union will not be able to sit back for long if they need to chase the game, and Glimt at home will surely keep looking for a second and third goal rather than trying to protect a narrow lead. We go with total goals over 2.5 at 1.47*.

    🚩 Corners Prediction

Corners also look like an interesting market to bet on. In Union's last ten matches, an average of 8.7 corners per game was recorded, with the Belgian club themselves taking an average of 4.1 corners. The total of 8.5 corners was reached in half of those matches.

Bodø/Glimt's overall figure over the same period stands at around 8.6 corners per match. The Norwegians attack a lot through the flanks, and with a home scenario and the need to win, the pressure on Union's goal should be fairly high. Given the nature of the first leg and the expected intensity of the return match, at least nine corners here seems a reasonable expectation. We go with total over 8.5 corners at odds of 1.41*.

*Odds are indicative and may vary depending on the bookmaker.

    ⭐ Editor's Pick

The first match showed that Union Saint-Gilloise are capable of scoring against Bodø/Glimt, but at the same time the Belgians showed problems defending their own penalty area. Now the situation is complicated by the fact that the match will be played at a stadium where the Norwegians can improve significantly. Glimt go into the decisive match on a run of six league wins with a minimal number of goals conceded during that period.

Union are also in excellent form, but summer squad changes and the possible absence of Zorgan make them less predictable in midfield. That said, a repeat of the 3:3 is not a given. Glimt have home advantage, are in good rhythm, and have already shown in previous European seasons that they know how to handle matches like this against strong opponents. Editor's Pick: Bodø/Glimt win. Predicted score - 3:1.
