Inter vs Club Brugge Prediction, H2H Stats & Statistical Bets 13 October 2026
📢 How will the clash between Inter and Bruges play out in the second round of the Champions League? Both sides have made decent starts to the new season and sit among the leaders after the opening rounds of their respective domestic leagues. There is, however, one important caveat: the Belgian league and Italian Serie A are competitions of a very different level, so the gap in class between these two sides is plain to see. On top of that, the match takes place at the Giuseppe Meazza, where Inter always feel particularly at home. That said, writing Bruges off prematurely would be a serious mistake - last season the Belgian club managed to give plenty of serious opponents a difficult time.

Head-to-Head
Inter and Bruges have never met before.

Inter maintain their title-chasing pace after the international break
Inter are one of the most decorated and consistent clubs in Serie A, setting themselves the highest targets year after year. The reigning Italian champions are clearly intent on defending the Scudetto, and so far everything is going to plan. After six rounds they sit top of the table with 16 points. The three-week international break did nothing to disrupt their momentum: last weekend Inter left Parma with no chance at home, winning 3-0. The hosts fielded something close to a second-string side, yet that made no difference to the outcome. Their dominance was plain to see throughout, and the final scoreline accurately reflected what happened on the pitch.
The start to their Champions League campaign, however, has been far less straightforward. In the opening round Inter travelled to Real Madrid and suffered a frustrating 1-2 defeat. The Nerazzurri were by no means inferior to the record winners in terms of football quality and did enough to earn at least a draw. But in matches of that magnitude, a single mistake can prove very costly. That is exactly what happened: goalkeeper Josep Martínez hesitated on the ball, lost possession and allowed the opposition to score.
Match Results: Inter Milano

Club Brugge have been nearly flawless in domestic competition, but their Champions League campaign has gotten off to a disappointing start.
In the Belgian Pro League, Bruges have been close to flawless so far. After eight rounds, they have collected 21 points from a possible 24 and sit second in the table. Only Gent are above them, a single point ahead - and it was Gent who handed Bruges their only defeat of the season. After the international break, the team returned to league action with a thoroughly impressive win, thrashing La Louvière 4-1 away last weekend and effectively killing the contest before the second half had barely begun: by the 53rd minute they were already 3-0 up. The final scoreline does not even tell the full story of Bruges' attacking dominance - they generated an impressive 4.16 xG.
Their Champions League debut this season, however, did not go to plan. Like Inter, Bruges started the tournament with a defeat, losing 2-3 at home to English side Aston Villa. Unlike the Milanese club, though, Bruges were playing at home and against opponents who are not as formidable as Real Madrid. The result was hard to argue with: Bruges put in a plainly poor performance, gave their opponents far too much space around their own goal, and a serious goalkeeping error did not help matters either. The defeat was fully deserved.

📋 Predicted starting XI for Bruges: Sommer - Sabbe, Mechele, Lee, Seys - Vetlesen, Potts - Virgili, Vanaken, Forbs - Tresoldi.
⚽️ Goals prediction
Bruges' Champions League matches have been anything but dull: at least three goals have been scored in each of the Belgian club's last nine games in the competition. Inter have also been delivering plenty of action: the same threshold was cleared in their previous five official matches. Given the attacking quality of both sides and the defensive issues on display, there is every reason to expect another high-scoring encounter. Our bet is Total Goals - Over 2.5 at 1.48*.
🚩 Corners prediction
Last season Inter earned more corners than any other side in Serie A, finishing top of that particular table by a considerable margin. This season the Nerazzurri are putting up strong numbers again, averaging 5.7 corners per game. At home against Bruges they are likely to dominate and pin their opponents back for long periods, which tends to generate plenty of set pieces. We are backing Inter Team Total Corners - Over 5.5.
🟨 Yellow cards prediction
Bruges face a difficult evening at the Giuseppe Meazza. Inter will put the visitors' defence under constant pressure, and Bruges will likely have to foul repeatedly to hold them at bay. It is quite possible that stopping the Nerazzurri's quick breaks will cost the Belgians a number of bookings. We therefore expect the visitors to collect more yellow cards on the night. Our bet is Bruges to receive more yellow cards.
🚀 Player statistic bet
Lautaro Martínez is in fine form and continues to add to his goal tally. In five Serie A matches this season the Argentine has scored four times. He kept his eye in during the international break too, netting twice and adding two assists in three appearances for Argentina. In the last round against Parma the 29-year-old came on only midway through the second half, so he should arrive fresh for the Bruges match and return to the starting XI. Our bet is Lautaro Martínez to score at 1.62*.
😱 Risky bet
The statistics paint a clear picture of how serious Inter's defensive problems are: in 4 of their 7 official matches the Nerazzurri have conceded at least two goals. They have looked reasonably solid only against Parma (3-0), Cagliari (1-0) and Monza (4-1). Bruges are certainly no weaker than any of those opponents. So it may be worth the risk of backing the visitors to score at least twice against Inter's defence. The odds are 4.50*.
🎯 Reliable bet
Despite their defensive frailties, Inter's powerful attack allows them to compensate and pick up points consistently. They are particularly dangerous at the Giuseppe Meazza, where they have scored at least two goals in eight of their last nine matches. We are expecting that run to continue and are backing Inter Team Total - Over 1.5 Goals at 1.29*.
👀 If the match doesn't go to script
The opposite scenario cannot be ruled out. Bruges, well aware of their status as clear underdogs, may set up very defensively and look to limit the chances at their end. In that case Inter risk running into a deep defensive block and going a long time without scoring, with the game becoming tight and low on goals. The alternative bet is Total Goals - Under 2.5 at 2.79*.

⭐ Editorial Prediction
The bookmakers do not expect Inter to have any serious problems in this match, and we disagree. Bruges are a tough side, perfectly capable of making life difficult even for such a formidable opponent. In their domestic league they have looked excellent: eight rounds played, 19 goals scored and just 4 conceded. There is no doubt about the visitors' attacking potential, and Inter's defence this season has been far from flawless. Our main bet is therefore Bruges to Score. Predicted score: 3-2.
