Arsenal vs Lille Prediction, H2H Stats & Statistical Bets 13 October 2026

Details
Key points

🔊 Lille began their Champions League campaign with a home defeat to Betis, despite leading at half-time. Arsenal, meanwhile, started with three points in Naples. Now the French side face a trip to London. England has been an uncomfortable destination for Lille: they have lost 10 of their last 12 matches against English clubs. The second-round league phase fixture takes place on 13 October at the Emirates.

🔁 We regularly update this prediction. Keep an eye on the Latest News section.

    Head-to-Head

📊 The two clubs have never met in an official match before - Tuesday will be the first time. There are, however, plenty of connections between them. Olivier Giroud played for Arsenal between 2012 and 2018, winning the FA Cup with the London club. Gabriel travelled in the opposite direction: before moving to London, the defender made 52 appearances for Lille. Giroud is now 40, and has said this season will most likely be his last.

Arsenal: Home Comebacks and Narrow Victories

At home this season, Arsenal have twice fallen behind and both times gone on to win. In September, Chelsea led at the Emirates as early as the second minute through Morgan Rogers. Kai Havertz equalised on 25 minutes, and shortly after the break Martin Ødegaard put the Londoners ahead. On Saturday the same pattern played out against Leeds, who arrived in London unbeaten in the league. The visitors took the lead after half-time, but within eight minutes Mikel Arteta's side hit back through Riccardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimarães. The decisive goal was set up by a flick from Declan Rice.

Arsenal have won eight official matches this season, and four of them have been by a single goal. That was even the case in Naples, where the Londoners had 26 shots - more than in any Champions League match since 2003/04. Their only slip-up so far came in September, when Arsenal lost 3-0 at Brighton. After six Premier League rounds they have 15 points, and in the Champions League they are unbeaten in 11 consecutive matches.

Lille: Twice Let the Lead Slip

Twice this season Lille have let winning positions slip. In August, after Dylan Bakwa's goal on 84 minutes, Davide Ancelotti's side were two goals up against PSG, only for PSG to equalise in stoppage time through Vitinha and Marquinhos. The scenario against Betis in the Champions League was even harsher. Lille won the first half, with Ayase Ueda and Alexsandro both scoring. After the break, Marc Bartra scored twice and Troy Parrott added a third. Shortly afterwards, Ethan Mbappé received a straight red card following a VAR review for an elbow. Lille lost 2-3.

In Ligue 1, though, the French side remain among the leaders: 13 points from six matches and second place. On Saturday, Lille beat Le Havre 1-0. Bakwa scored as early as the fifth minute, assisted by Tanguay Nianzou, for whom it was his first appearance for the club. Ancelotti afterwards admitted he was unhappy with his team's play on the ball. In six league matches, Lille have conceded just four goals, and half of those came in the closing stages of the PSG match.

    Latest news

    Arsenal

❓ Arteta has defensive injury concerns. William Saliba is out with a back injury and, depending on the source, may not return until November or December. Piero Hincapié picked up an ankle injury after the Leeds match, during the cool-down, and has not yet been diagnosed. Christos Tzolis injured his hamstring while on international duty with Greece. On 9 October, Arteta said the winger would be out for several weeks. Arteta has also said that Rice needs his workload managed carefully, though he did play the full 90 minutes against Leeds.

    Lille

❓ In London, Lille will be without Ethan Mbappé. UEFA suspended the midfielder for three Champions League matches following an elbow incident in the match against Betis. He is also dealing with a foot and ankle injury sustained while on international duty with the France under-21 side. Tiago Santos left the field on a stretcher in the 22nd minute of the match against Le Havre with a knee injury. Further tests are needed to clarify the diagnosis. Hamza Igamane is recovering from a cruciate ligament injury and is not expected back until the end of 2026 or the start of 2027.

    Predicted Lineups

📋 Predicted starting XI for Arsenal: Raya - White, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori - Rice, Lewis-Skelly - Saka, Odegaard, Madueke - Havertz.

📋 Predicted starting XI for Lille: Ozer - Goffi, Ngoy, Alexsandro, Perraud - Bentaleb, Kjaergaard, Mukau - Bakwa, Ueda, Perrin.

    ⚽️ Goals prediction

At home, Arsenal have scored in the first half in 6 of their last 7 matches. In August, Coventry went into the break at Emirates Stadium having already conceded twice. On the other side, Lille have conceded in the first half in both of their defeats this season - against Betis and Nice. We expect the Londoners to open the scoring before half-time. The bet is Arsenal to Score in the First Half.

    🚩 Corners prediction

Fewer than 11 corners have been taken in seven consecutive Arsenal home matches. Arsenal don't win many corners themselves: across their last 10 official matches they have had 40, with opponents taking 36. Lille show a similar pattern over their last six matches. In 8 of their last 9 away matches, the total corners have also been under 11. Across Lille's last 10 official matches combined, the total came to 92. We expect the match to fall short of 11 corners. The bet is Total Corners - Under 10.5.

    🟨 Yellow cards prediction

Opponents foul Arsenal freely: in the Londoners' last 10 official matches, opposition players picked up 29 yellow cards while Arteta's side received 14. Lille collected 17 bookings over the same period. A recent example - Saturday: Leeds received four yellows at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal one. On Tuesday it will be the French side who have to do more defending, which means more opportunities for fouls. The bet is Lille Team Total Yellow Cards - Over 1.5.

    🚀 Player statistic bet

Arsenal's top scorers this season are two players level on three goals each: Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka. But in the Champions League it was the captain who proved decisive. In Naples, the Norwegian scored on 75 minutes after a one-two with substitute Christos Tzolis. Against Lille's compact defence, the captain's effort could again be the one that matters. The bet is Ødegaard to Score.

    😱 Risky bet

Arsenal have scored more than one goal in just one of their last five Champions League matches. Lille rarely concede away from home: they kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 6 away matches. The risk is a fair one - at home to Coventry, Arteta's side scored three. But if you're looking for a decent price, this is where to find it. The bet is Arsenal Team Total Goals - Under 1.5 at 2.95*

    🎯 Reliable bet

Arsenal have won seven consecutive home matches. Across all competitions, they have won 8 of their last 9 matches. The only slip came at Brighton. The bet is Arsenal to Win at 1.27*

👀 If the match doesn't go to plan

Our scenario is Arsenal controlling possession, winning by a narrow margin and keeping a clean sheet. That falls apart if the French side score first. Lille have scored in seven consecutive matches, and in all of their last 10 Champions League games. In that case, Arsenal would have to open up and the match would become an end-to-end affair. In-play, look at Both Teams to Score and three or more goals. Keep those markets in mind if Lille take the lead inside the first half-hour.

*Odds are indicative and may vary across different bookmakers.

    📌 Editorial Prediction

Arsenal don't do high-scoring affairs: fewer than four goals were scored in 28 of their last 29 matches. At home, that run has held for 12 games in a row. Lille's away record tells a similar story - fewer than four goals in 14 of their last 15 away matches. Arsenal often get by with a minimal margin, while Lille tend not to concede much on the road. We're expecting a tight match that stays under four goals. The bet is Total Goals - Under 3.5. Predicted score: 1-0.
