We were on the brink of a major upset but were met only with tears and disappointment.

It all came to an end in the fourth game of the third set: Grigor served, took the game, and then immediately dropped in pain. It was a pectoral muscle injury. The Bulgarian called for the doctor and even left for further assistance, only to return and retire from the match. Dimitrov left the court in tears, while Jannik narrowly escaped this time. He lost three service games during the match, performed well on his first serve but played poorly on his second. His opponent demonstrated that Sinner can be challenged, as long as you aren't afraid.

The description of the American player will be much shorter, as he hasn't yet played any standout matches. Shelton got a favorable draw and confidently reached the quarterfinals of the tournament. What's next?

Lorenzo Sonego gave it his all in the last match, but it seems he hadn't fully recovered from his previous five-setter. The Italian exhausted himself in the first set, and from then on, it was all Shelton on the court.
