Málaga are collecting compliments faster than points right now. After the draw with Levante, even the opposing manager Luís Castro described the Andalusians as one of the better-playing sides in the league. The hosts did dominate possession and created enough chances, but the ball simply would not go in.
Juan Funes put the problem more precisely than any statistic after the match: Málaga need to be more decisive and less predictable in the final third. They get into the right areas, but too often choose the safe option from there. Heading to Vigo, that is both an asset and a drawback. The structure is already there; turning good football into goals is not happening yet.

He spends most of his time with Celta's reserve side in Segunda, so his absence from the squad does not affect the Vigo club's first-team setup.

- Celta's main absentees are Borja Iglesias and Jones El Abdellaoui, both of whom have been left out of the squad. The Spaniard missed the start of the season through injury and played just 21 minutes against Getafe in the previous round. The Moroccan forward has played three matches but has not contributed any goal involvements.
