Conor McCarthy vs Dumitru Girlean Result, Score & Stats

💪 McCarthy suffered the first loss of his professional career only recently, as George Steins caught him in a choke during the second round. For the Irishman, this is a tricky spot for a comeback, especially since Girlean has never gone the distance—each of his nine victories has come by way of knockout or submission. In his most recent win, he once again finished the fight with a choke.

Girlean poses a constant threat, refusing to let his opponents settle whether standing or on the mat. However, McCarthy is younger, quicker, and had been climbing steadily up the Cage Warriors ranks before his setback in June. If he’s learned from that first defeat and avoids giving up his back in grappling exchanges, his pace and timing should tilt more exchanges in his favor. Our pick: Connor McCarthy to win.
