Marc-Andre Barriault vs Kyle Daukaus

💣 Barrio are going through a rough patch, with just one win in their last six outings. The Canadian knocked out Bruno Silva in the opening round last May, but then dropped decisions to Sharabutdin Magomedov and Michal Oleksiejczuk. Daukaus also enters this bout coming off a loss—Bo Nickal stopped him with strikes in the first round back in June. Before that, however, the American had put together a six-fight win streak, including a lightning-fast submission over Gerald Meerschaert in just 50 seconds last November. In total, Kyle boasts 12 victories by submission.

Daukaus’ main advantage lies in his ability to consistently take the fight to the mat and threaten with chokes. Barrio is dangerous in close quarters and thrives in heavy exchanges, but it will be tough for him to keep the action standing against a more well-rounded opponent. Daukaus excels at capitalizing on mistakes in the clinch, quickly transitioning to control the neck or back. If the American prevents Barrio from dictating the pace in open exchanges, his grappling edge should prove decisive. Prediction: Kyle Daukaus to win.
