Columbus vs Vegas Prediction 13 March 2025
📢 Will the "Jackets" remain in the playoff zone? Columbus continues to fight for a spot in the Eastern Conference's playoff eight, but recently they have been consistently dropping points. It seems the team lacks experience in this kind of battle. Vegas, on the other hand, after a series of successes, suffered two consecutive losses for the first time in a long time. However, this did not significantly affect the Nevada team's standing in the tournament.
Head-to-Head
In the current regular season, the opponents have already faced each other once. At the end of October, the "Jackets" managed to secure a victory with great difficulty and only in overtime on foreign ice (2:1). The confrontation was not marked by high intensity or a large number of dangerous moments. The winning puck was scored by forward Cole Sillinger in the first minute of overtime. The young player is having a fairly good season, having scored 29 points in 54 games. However, the hockey player is currently injured and will not be able to assist his teammates.
Head-to-head statistics Columbus - Vegas

Columbus Blue Jackets Team Overview
After an excellent end to February, marked by four consecutive victories, the "Jackets" have hit a significant slump at the most inopportune time. In their last four games, Dean Evason's squad suffered three losses and managed to defeat only the Rangers (7:3). Amid numerous setbacks from direct competitors, the team miraculously managed to hold onto the eighth spot in the East, but this can't last for long. The home team desperately needs to improve. However, they simply have no real source for strengthening their game within the current roster.

Vegas Golden Knights Team Overview
Bruce Cassidy's team remains one of the main favorites in the West. With 18 games left in the regular season, the club has almost secured its participation in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Perhaps that's why, for the first time in many years, the local management was extremely passive during the trade deadline and did not take any radical steps. This is quite unlike them. Nevertheless, the "Knights" lost their last two games. First, they couldn't hold the lead in a high-scoring shootout with Los Angeles (5-6), and then they let Erik Karlsson slip away in overtime against Pittsburgh (2-3 OT).

🏒 Projected Lineups
Columbus: Merzlikins - Werenski, Fabbro - Voronkov, Fantilli, Marchenko
Vegas: Hill - Pietrangelo, Hague - Stone, Eichel, Pearson
🥅 Goalies
Columbus goalie Elvis Merzlikins continues to alternate between successful games and outright failures. For instance, after an excellent game against Florida (94.3%), which nonetheless did not result in a win for him (0:3), the Latvian was powerless against New Jersey (82.1%). Such inconsistency in the last line of defense is unlikely to inspire confidence in his teammates.
Vegas goaltender Adin Hill has been playing progressively worse since he managed to "shut out" New Jersey in early March. As a result, the matchup against Los Angeles was a complete failure (82.9%). The goalie duo of Samsonov and Hill appears to be the weakest link in the Nevada team, and it's no coincidence that contracts with the goaltenders have yet to be extended here.
Editorial Prediction
The recent games of the "Jackets" have become quite high-scoring. In hopes of securing a spot in the Eastern Conference's playoff top eight, the team is not shy about playing in an extremely attacking style without worrying about their own goal. Recently, this tactic hasn't been successful, but it's unlikely they'll abandon it here. In six of Columbus' last seven matches, at least six pucks were scored. Vegas also occasionally engages in goal shootouts and will be ready to join one of these battles again. In our opinion, the trend will remain relevant. We recommend the bet - total over 6.5 pucks.
