Calgary vs Anaheim Prediction 7 November 2026

Details
Key points

🔊 Calgary Flames are gradually emerging from their slump and have cut the gap to the playoff spots to two points. Now, though, they have to stop Anaheim Ducks, who have won three straight games after a long losing streak. The Ducks have been scoring so many goals lately that even serious defensive problems have not stopped them from winning. The hosts have the edge in the head-to-head meetings: Calgary won the first game between the teams this season. But Anaheim's offense has improved noticeably since then. Will the Flames' reliable defense be enough to contain the California team again?

    Four goals after the break

📊 In their first meeting of the season, the Calgary Flames beat the Anaheim Ducks on the road (4:2) for their first win of the season. The score was tied after the first period, but the visitors then turned the game around. Adam Klapka, Martin Pospisil, Yegor Sharangovich and Aydar Suniev scored for the Flames, with Suniev also adding an assist. Maxim Tsyplakov and Yan Kuznetsov recorded assists. Beckett Sennecke and Leo Carlsson scored for Anaheim. The visiting team has now won each of the last four meetings between the two.

    Defence restores hope

After a poor start, the Calgary Flames have won six of their last nine games and moved closer to the playoff spots. Their wins over Carolina (3:2) and Minnesota (2:1) were particularly telling. Ryan Huska’s team have become noticeably tighter defensively: in three of their last eight games, they held opponents to one goal. There are still problems in attack, though. The Flames’ power play, for example, has gone three straight games without a goal.

The latest game against Seattle again showed both sides of the Calgary Flames. Yegor Sharangovich opened the scoring in the first period, and Dustin Wolf made 27 saves. But the Flames could not build on their lead and lost in overtime (1:2). They did outchance Seattle 12:6 at even strength. The chances are there, but they do not always convert them.

Goals are coming, but calm is not

Anaheim have won three straight games after losing seven of their previous eight. The Ducks’ main weapon has been their offense: they have scored at least five goals in six consecutive games. Their 6:3 win over Ottawa was particularly impressive, with the Ducks coming back from 0:3 down. Their defense has not kept pace, though. The California team allow 3.8 goals per game on average, and their penalty kill has stopped just 73.8% of opponents’ power plays.

In their last game, Anaheim beat Edmonton 5:4, though they nearly let a three-goal lead slip away. Pavel Mintyukov and Beckett Sennecke scored twice each, while Cutter Gauthier scored his ninth goal in four games. The Ducks led 5:2 at the start of the third period but allowed Edmonton to cut the deficit to one. Laurent Brossoit made 23 saves, and Joel Quenneville’s team held on for the win.

    First-Period Prediction

The first period has produced more than 1.5 goals in 7 of Anaheim Ducks' last 8 NHL games. Calgary Flames have scored an average of 1.2 first-period goals in their recent home games, while Anaheim Ducks have allowed 1.67 in their recent road games. Our pick is first-period total over 1.5 goals at odds of 1.77.

    Prediction on the Result

Calgary Flames have won five straight NHL home games in regulation. Anaheim Ducks have six road wins this season, though, so the visitors should not be underestimated. We pick Calgary Flames to win in regulation at odds of 2.2.

    Total Goals Prediction

Anaheim have scored more than 2.5 goals in six straight NHL games; their season average on the road is 3.67. The counterpoint is that Calgary have allowed an average of just 1.6 goals in their recent home games. Despite that, we’re backing Anaheim team total over 2.5 goals at odds of 1.61.

    Reliable Bet

Anaheim Ducks have scored fewer than 1.5 goals in the first period in 13 of their last 15 NHL road games. They average 0.89 first-period goals on the road this season. We’re taking Anaheim Ducks team total under 1.5 goals in the first period at odds of 1.24.

    ⭐️ Editor's Pick

Calgary Flames have become more reliable defensively, but containing Anaheim Ducks' current attack will not be easy. The Ducks have scored more than two goals in six straight games, and they have scored at least five in every game during that stretch. They scored five against Edmonton in their last game and six against Ottawa before that. Anaheim also make mistakes around their own net fairly often, which forces them to keep up a high tempo offensively. Even with the hosts' improved defence, the visitors' scoring run deserves attention. Our pick - Anaheim Ducks team total over 2.5 goals.
