NRG vs Imperial Prediction 27 November 2025
🔊 One of the final matches of Stage 1 at the Budapest Major. NRG, playing with coach daps instead of their captain, struggled to maintain their advantage and now face a decisive BO3. Imperial, who looked disjointed in the first two days, have surprisingly found their footing and are starting to show signs of life. On paper, the scenario is straightforward: NRG are brave but weakened by the substitution; Imperial are unpredictable and inconsistent, yet even in poor form, they maintain roster integrity. This could shape up to be a tightly contested match, with rounds going down to the wire. NRG, despite their current state, are showing resilience, while Imperial make too many mistakes to ensure an 'easy passage.'
Head-to-Head
No recent head-to-head meetings exist: the teams compete in different regions and rarely cross paths. We rely solely on current form. NRG have demonstrated that even without nitr0, they can defeat favorites, but they can also falter across the board (as seen against M80). Imperial rely heavily on try, but in their last match, the rest of the squad finally stepped up-chelo, VINI, and noway started hitting their shots and making a real impact.

NRG Team Overview
NRG exceeded expectations at the major, but it all came down to one factor: the emotional surge on the first day. Their victory over NIP and the upset against FaZe were a mix of perfect timing, solid setups, and a few fortunate moments. However, reality soon caught up with the team. In their BO3 against M80, the Americans lost both maps in a landslide (Dust2 13-7, Mirage 13-2), faltering in both offense and defense.
Daps is putting in the effort, and his shooting is decent at times, but it's not enough: the team plays a simplified, chaotic style of CS, heavily reliant on individual bursts from br0 and Sonic. This might suffice against weaker opponents, but not against top-tier teams. Nevertheless, NRG fights in every round: they rarely surrender a map without a battle, often steal economic rounds, and play pistols well. Even in their current state, they are capable of snatching a map or dragging a series to a nerve-wracking finish.

Imperial Team Overview
Imperial had a rough start in the first two days of play: their defeats to FlyQuest and fnatic were complete letdowns from the opening to the final kill-everyone struggled except try. However, the match against The Huns marked a slight turning point: the team finally came alive. Try remains incredibly consistent, but more importantly, others have stepped up: chelo started hitting his shots, VINI became more aggressive, and noway pulled off a crucial round with the deagle.
Imperial have maintained their style: they are not perfect and often crumble under pressure, but compared to NRG, they function as a cohesive unit rather than a makeshift lineup. However, as quickly as they've turned things around, they could falter again-that's the risk. Nevertheless, at this moment, they look like the favorites. They aren't afraid to be aggressive, gather intel, and disrupt the opponent's usual rhythm. If try can energize the team and maintain his level of play, their chances of advancing are very high.

Editor's Prediction
NRG have surprised everyone, but they remain a team with a coach on the roster, which often works against them in a decisive BO3 match-up. Imperial appear more cohesive in terms of firepower and discipline. The Brazilians have finally hit their stride, and it's happening at a crucial time. Prediction: over 48.5 rounds total. Both teams are prone to mistakes and collapses: NRG fight for every round, while Imperial often let leads slip away. Expect long maps, force-buy sequences, a fast pace, and plenty of rounds here. Alternative outcome: Imperial win the series. The Brazilians' cohesion and shooting should outweigh NRG's unstable, chaotic style. But it won't be a one-sided affair-NRG are too tenacious for that.
