Denis Berinchyk vs Keyshawn Davis Prediction

🔊 Who will emerge stronger in the battle of Olympic silver medalists? On February 15 in New York, a boxing event will take place, with the main event being the fight for the WBO lightweight world championship. Denys Berinchyk will make his first title defense and share the ring with the promising Keyshawn Davis. Bookmakers believe that the transfer of the belt is practically a foregone conclusion. However, the Ukrainian surely disagrees with the odds and will try to achieve a second upset in a row.

    Denis Berinchyk Team Overview

The Ukrainian won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in London and, after competing a bit more as an amateur, launched his professional career in 2015. It took Denys 18 fights to reach the opportunity to fight for the world champion title. He won every single one of them and in May last year, he faced the star Emmanuel Navarrete. Berinchyk was a big underdog, but in the end, not only did he compete with the Mexican, but he also claimed victory by split decision.

    Keyshawn Davis Team Overview

The American was also just a step away from Olympic gold. He reached the final in Tokyo in 2021, where he was defeated by Andy Cruz. Keyshawn didn't delay his transition to the pros and immediately hit a cruising speed, having fought 12 bouts up to this point. In each one, the American emerged victorious, with only four of his opponents making it to the final bell. The latest victim of the "Businessman" was Argentine Gustavo Lemos, who was brutally knocked out in the second round.

    Editor's Prediction

Keyshawn Davis is undoubtedly a talented guy with excellent technique and a powerful punch, but there is no sense that he is already a top contender. The American is just on his way to development, and he hasn't faced opponents of Berinchyk's caliber yet. The "Businessman" promises to knock out the Ukrainian, but we strongly doubt that will happen. Denys has never even been knocked down, he boxes in both stances and is surely preparing several unpleasant surprises for the challenger. One of those could be a brawl - if the champion manages to turn boxing into a fight, his chances of success will significantly increase.

Considering the above, there are two attractive betting options: a full fight (rational) and a victory for Denys Berinchyk (risky), as we consider the odds for the Ukrainian to be inflated. Since the big boxing business is interested in Davis's success, we will focus on the first option. We believe that the American will go the full 12 rounds in the ring for the first time, facing the toughest test of his career.
