However, there remains the big question: how can the Old Lady perform against a top side? Juve take on in-form AS Roma away from home, and with their aim to finish in the top four this term, losing this game will not be acceptable.

Lazio continues to sway away from challenging for the top four following a 1-1 draw with Torino in Rome over the weekend. Will Lazio turn things around against struggling Atalanta, who lost their last two matches against Inter Milan and Fiorentina?

We took a long look at each of this week’s Serie A matches and came out with the best possible prediction for each encounter, but it is vital to know that these predictions are not 100% fixed.

A player to get the marching orders: Genoa vs Udinese

• Matches involving these two teams always end in chaos, and it will be unwise to rule the same out from happening in the upcoming game.

Genoa and Udinese have a long list of meetings in Serie A, but we should focus on their last five league meetings. The visitors couldn’t get around the hosts in five attempts, drawing three and losing two.

However, aside from a draw occurring in three encounters, we also noticed four of their last five meetings ended with at least one red card. We cannot rule the same out from happening on Friday.

Como and Monza to struggle in the final third: Monza vs Genoa

• Both teams struggle to find their shooting rhythm when they encounter each other, and we doubt this will change when they play this weekend.

Both teams have only met once in Serie A, and the encounter ended in a 1-1 draw in Como. It is widely accepted that both teams have struggled defensively, but when they cross paths, they lack ideas in the final third.

Three of their last five league matches may have ended with over 2.5 goals, but if we rather focus on their past results and their attacking qualities, we’ll understand why the odds favor fewer goals to be scored in this game.

Inter Milan to shut Parma out from scoring: Parma vs Inter Milan

• Inter Milan have dominated these meetings over the years, but they struggle to come away with clean sheets.

With Inter Milan preparing for their Champions League game against Bayern Munich next week, we doubt if they will be 100% on alert in every second of the game against Parma. The hosts may have endured mixed results this term, but they always find a way to get on the score sheet against the reigning champions of Italy.

Parma scored at least a goal in each of their last six meetings with Inter and did the same in their previous five Serie A matches. Inter are the favorites to win this tie, which we expect them to, but we doubt either team will keep a clean sheet.

David de Gea will be busy in Milan: AC Milan vs Fiorentina

• Fiorentina goalkeepers are usually busy when they come up against AC Milan, and we expect De Gea to do the same in Milan this weekend.

The last time both teams met, David de Gea was forced to make seven saves in the reverse fixture against AC Milan and helped Fiorentina clinch a tight 2-1 victory.

We expect the Spaniard to be equally busy in Milan this weekend, and with Fiorentina averaging 5.5 saves per game in their last five league meetings with Milan, we expect the same number of saves from the visitors on Saturday.

Lecce and Venezia will lack ideas in the attacking half: Lecce vs Venezia

• Goals are usually rare in matches involving both teams, and with both teams fighting against relegation, we expect a cagey game in Lecce.

Both teams met for the first time in Serie A last year since 2002, and the encounter was uneventful. Yes, many goals were scored in Serie B meetings, but whenever they cross paths in intense matches, goals are usually rare.

For instance, when they played the Serie B play-off in 2021, both games ended with under 2.5 goals, and because both clubs are fighting against relegation, we can expect an overly cautious encounter in Lecce.

AS Roma are in better form and are expected to press more. Juventus’ new coach got off to a winning start against Genoa, but facing Roma is obviously a harder test for the Croatia manager.

However, we can focus on Juve’s discipline against Roma in Rome, and we found out that the Old Lady are increasingly likely to receive at least three yellow cards, as they currently average 2.8 yellow cards per game in their last five trips to Rome.

Bologna to make many tackles: Bologna vs Napoli

• Both teams will press for the three points, but we expect Bologna to make more tackles and protect their current fine form.

Bologna are in superb form, having won their last five Serie A matches. Napoli are pushing for the Serie A title, while the hosts want a top-four finish. This game will be intense, so we are backing Bologna to make at least 17 tackles, although they average 14.8 tackles per home game against the Naples.

We can easily imagine the hosts taking an early lead and doing everything to nullify Napoli’s threats in the midfield.
