Serie A 2024/2025 Predictions: Gameweek 22: 24/01 - 27/01

Will Juventus finally succumb to their first defeat in the 2024/25 Serie A campaign when they travel to Naples to take on the league leaders, Napoli? The Naples are in fine form and have been winning league matches lately. Can they do the same against the Old Lady?
Inter Milan will continue their unbeaten run when they face struggling Lecce away from home on Sunday evening, while we back Atalanta to bounce back to winning ways against Como away from home after four winless matches.
This week’s Serie A gameweek 22 predictions were based on current form, data and expert knowledge.
Serie A 2024/25 gameweek 22 predictions: 24/01/2025 - 27/01/2025
Torino and Cagliari to struggle in the final third: Torino vs Cagliari
- Date: 24/01/2025
- Kick-off: 20:45
- Both teams struggle to score goals, and we expect them to struggle to create clear-cut chances.
Cagliari may have averaged 2.85 goals per game in 21 Serie A matches, but their upcoming encounter with Torino is unlikely to produce at least three goals. This is because four of the hosts’ last five games ended with under 2.5 goals.
Torino vs Cagliari prediction: Under 2.5 goals
Atalanta and Como to exchange goals: Como vs Atalanta
- Date: 25/01/2025
- Kick-off: 15:00
- Atalanta have struggled to keep clean sheets lately, and we doubt if they can change that against a Como side that scores in almost every game.
Atalanta may have one of the best defenses in Serie A, but they have struggled at the back recently. They conceded three times at home against Napoli, and we think they can concede at least once against Como. Atalanta will be behind Como in terms of energy, thanks to their midweek game against Sturm Graz in the UCL. Como will have about six days to rest, coupled with their recent fine goalscoring form, having scored seven in their last eight matches. We don’t see why Cesc Fabregas’ side doesn’t score on Saturday.
Como vs Atalanta prediction: Both teams to score - yes
Napoli to avoid a defeat in Naples: Napoli vs Juventus
- Date: 25/01/2025
- Kick-off: 18:00
- Napoli are in fine form, and we expect them to avoid a defeat against a Juventus side that surprisingly turns up in big games.
Juventus haven’t lost a game this term in Serie A, and they surprisingly held Inter Milan to a 4-4 draw away. The Old Lady are known for pulling off eye-raising results against any side, but thanks to Napoli’s current form, we doubt Juve can stage any shock win in Naples.
Napoli vs Juventus prediction: Home team to win or draw
Bologna to get on the scoresheet: Empoli vs Bologna
- Date: 25/01/2025
- Kick-off: 20:45
- Despite their inconsistent performance this term, Bologna are expected to score against Empoli.
While Empoli's defense may not be as poor as the team's standings position, we anticipate Bologna to score at least once due to their impressive frontline, which has scored 32 goals in 20 matches. The hosts conceded 28 goals in 21 matches, which suggests they concede at least one goal per game. It wouldn’t be a stretch to expect a goal from the guests.
Empoli vs Bologna prediction: Away over 0.5 goals
AC Milan and Parma to exchange goals: AC Milan vs Parma
- Date: 26/01/2025
- Kick-off: 12:30
- Parma are fond of scoring against the top sides, and we don’t expect them to relent against AC Milan, who sometimes struggle to shut the very least teams out from scoring.
AC Milan conceded 21 goals in 20 league matches, and because they will perform in midweek in the Champions League, we expect them to be short on energy when they host Parma in Milan. Parma will likely take liberty in that and find the back of the net when both teams meet on Sunday afternoon.
AC Milan vs Parma prediction: Both teams to score - yes
AS Roma to avoid a defeat in Udine: Udinese vs AS Roma
- Date: 26/01/2025
- Kick-off: 15:00
- AS Roma are unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches, and we expect their unbeaten run to remain intact in Udine.
Udinese host Roma this weekend, coming off a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Como away from home. They are eager to put Monday’s defeat behind them, but they face AS Roma next, and the visitors’ current form doesn’t give the hosts enough reasons to hope for a win. The Rome outfits are unbeaten in their last five league matches, and we expect their unbeaten run to remain unchanged beyond this weekend.
Udinese vs AS Roma prediction: Away team to win or draw
Inter Milan to maintain their winning run: Lecce vs Inter Milan
- Date: 26/01/2025
- Kick-off: 18:00
- Lecce are in dire form and are unlikely to stage a fight against the reigning champions of Italy, Inter Milan.
Inter Milan are three points behind Napoli at the top of the standings with one match outstanding, and their recent form suggests they are more likely to maintain their current top form. Inter beat Empoli 3-1 last time out, and with Lecce’s current horrendous form, we can only anticipate yet another comfortable win from the Serie A champions.
Lecce vs Inter Milan prediction: Away team to win
Lazio to win in at least one half: Lazio vs Fiorentina
- Date: 26/01/2025
- Kick-off: 20:45
- We expect Fiorentina to fall short against Lazio, having failed to win in their last five Serie A matches.
Fiorentina struggled in their last five Serie A matches. They couldn’t outscore their last five opponents and particularly struggled as visitors. Lazio are in better form, with only one defeat in their last five league games. We can safely expect the hosts to outscore Fiorentina in one half, something David de Gea’s side struggled to avoid in recent weeks.
Lazio vs Fiorentina prediction: Home team to win either half - yes
Venezia and Hellas Verona struggle to create clear-cut chances: Venezia vs Hellas Verona
- Date: 27/01/2025
- Kick-off: 18:30
- Both teams struggle to score more than two goals per game, and we expect the same to happen in the upcoming game.
Venezia and Verona may be poor at the back, but we doubt if either side will be able to score two or more goals. Both teams averaged less than 2.0 goals scored per game, so we can anticipate less than three goals to be scored in the upcoming encounter.
Venezia vs Hellas Verona prediction: Under 2.5 goals
Genoa to win in at least one half: Genoa vs Monza
- Date: 27/01/2025
- Kick-off: 20:45
- Monza are in horrendous form, having won just twice in 21 games. We expect them to be outscored by Genoa in the upcoming game.
Genoa may have endured mixed results this term, but they are in better form to claim the win when they host Monza on Monday night. The visitors sit at the bottom of the standings due to their poor defense, and we expect the hosts to outscore them in at least one half, something Monza have struggled to avoid in most of their last 21 league games.
