Predictions for the 35th round of the Premier League, May 1-4

30 Apr, 18:06

This preview gathers predictions for the matches of the 35th round of the English Premier League. All football predictions can be found in the football section, and a full list of predictions for the world's main league is on the EPL Predictions page. The season finale is getting closer, so the intrigue is heating up! The upcoming round will delight us with a multitude of exciting matches, but the central one, of course, will take place at "Old Trafford". Liverpool will try to displace MU from the 3rd spot. To make the most informed decisions on this clash and the rest of the round, be sure to consult our trusted bookmaker review before placing your bets.

Leeds – Burnley

The round kicks off with a less flashy, but attention-grabbing fixture. Leeds, having bitterly exited the FA Cup, will try to beat Burnley, who were relegated from the EPL, to avoid relegation themselves. Such are the intricacies. The "peacocks" have high chances of success. They have beaten the "clarets" in 3 out of the last 5 Premier League encounters and have scored more than 1.5 goals in 4 out of the last 5 matches. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor and the rest of the team are certainly capable of performing effectively against the league's worst defence.

Bet: Leeds' individual total goals over 1.5

Wolverhampton – Sunderland

Our next stop is "Molineux", where another future Championship participant resides. Wolverhampton has fallen apart, losing three matches in a row, although they hardly deserved to lose to Tottenham (0:1) in the last round. Sunderland, who, judging by the number of points gained, are contenders for the European cups, but based on their current form, you wouldn't call the "black cats" such. They have conceded 9 goals in the last two matches, and in the last round they suffered a humiliating 0:5 defeat to Nottingham. After such a "performance", it's surprising to see Regis Le Bri's team as the favourite. Especially considering that they have scored less than 1.5 goals in 14 out of 17 away matches of the current EPL season.

Bet: Sunderland's individual total goals under 1.5

Newcastle – Brighton

We move to the north-east, specifically to the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The local team is finishing the championship without any tournament prospects and is experiencing the worst stretch of the season, having suffered five consecutive defeats in all tournaments. However, their opponent is doing wonderfully. Over a span of eightIn their recent matches, Brighton only lost to Arsenal (0:1), which propelled them into the European competition zone. The "Seagulls" have everything they need to add another three points to their tally, as Newcastle has lost 5 out of their last 6 home games. Moreover, Eddie Howe's charges regularly concede late goals - they simply run out of steam in the closing stages. In our opinion, this fact pairs well with the fact that Fabian Hürzeler's team won the second half in 4 out of the last 5 rounds.

Bet: Brighton to win the 2nd half

Brentford – West Ham

Next stop is Brentford. The "Bees" dropped out of the European competition zone due to a six-match winless streak. And while they at least didn't lose before their trip to Manchester, they left Old Trafford empty-handed (1:2). They haven't won since February. West Ham, on the other hand, has significantly improved in the spring stretch of the season and secured three victories, which helped them escape the relegation zone. In addition to the "Hammers" approaching the upcoming match in excellent mental shape, they also have no injuries, unlike the hosts. Nuno Espírito Santo's men should take at least one point with them.

Bet: West Ham will not lose

Arsenal – Fulham

Finally, we've reached the heavyweights! Arsenal leads the table, but that's with a game in hand for Man City. Therefore, only a victory will satisfy Mikel Arteta's men in the battle with Fulham. However, the meeting with the "Cottagers", who have taken points from the "Gunners" in 3 out of the last 5 occasions, is expected to be very challenging. The hosts will not be in the best physical condition after a gruelling trip to Madrid, and the opponent has gained points in 4 out of the last 5 rounds and will arrive at the Emirates with confidence in their abilities. Surprises are possible here, so we'll play both teams to score. This bet has already won in the last five consecutive head-to-head matches of the teams at Arsenal's ground.

Bet: both teams to score (yes)

Bournemouth – Crystal Palace

Under the management of Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth is striving to make a historic entry into the European competitions, having not lost in 14 consecutive Premier League matches, while Crystal Palace is aiming to win a European trophy before bidding farewell to Oliver Glasner. A very intriguing match is expected! In the first round, the teams delivered an anomalous draw with a score of 3:3. Anomalous, because before that, they had nine consecutive matches with a total of less than 2.5 goals, without ever exchanging goals. Considering that the last five matches of the "cherries" at home "Vitality" ended in a draw, we may well be in for a stubborn, but not the brightest battle.

Bet: total under 3 goals

Manchester United – Liverpool

And here is the main highlight of the entire round! The North-West derby at the "Theatre of Dreams"! MU approaches it as a favorite and with very strong statistics – six victories in seven home matches after the return of Michael Carrick. In the recent rounds, the team took three points on a thin line, but the same can be said about Liverpool. It is also worth noting that Arne Slot's guys lost to the "red devils" at "Anfield" in the first round (1:2), lost 4 out of 5 last away matches in all tournaments and lost Mohamed Salah due to injury, who joined an already extensive infirmary. United under the new-old coach performs great in big matches: Manchester City (2:0), Arsenal (3:2), Aston Villa (3:1), Chelsea (1:0) – all of them were beaten. And Liverpool, considering current problems, risks getting into this company.

Bet: Manchester United to win with a handicap (0)

Aston Villa – Tottenham

The reigning Europa League winner against, possibly, the future one. Last season, Tottenham took the European cup, but at the end of this one, it risks being relegated from the Premier League. This would be a fantastic downgrade. In the last round, the team got its first victory under Roberto De Zerbi, beating Wolves (1:0), but lost its most valuable player – Xavi Simons tore his cruciate ligaments. Meanwhile, direct competitors are also winning, so the "spurs" remain in the relegation zone. And it's hard to imagine them succeeding at "Villa Park", because they lost the last four head-to-head meetings with Unai Emery's guys. Their worst nightmare – Morgan Rogers, who has scored or assisted in five consecutive matches against Tottenham. The Englishman has 4+2 in "goal+pass" in this period.

Bet: Morgan Rogers to score or assist

Chelsea – Nottingham Forest

And straight to the second semi-finalist of the Europa League, who will visit the much-suffering Chelsea at "Stamford Bridge". Nottingham has achieved two consecutive crushing victories and has not lost in the last six Premier League rounds, fiercely fighting for survival, while Chelsea has lost five consecutive league matches without scoring, equalling the club's anti-record. The "Blues" have conceded in 8 out of 9 previous Premier League home games, while Forest, on the other hand, have scored in eight consecutive away matches. Vítor Pereira’s side have every chance of picking up points, or at the very least getting on the scoresheet.

Bet: Nottingham Forest to score

Everton – Manchester City

The round will conclude at "Hill Dickinson", where the main title contender will arrive. Man City continues to win in the Premier League and has made it to the final of the FA Cup, making a powerful comeback in the match against Southampton (2:1). However, Everton, who dreams of making it to the European cups, has been incredibly unlucky lately. The "Toffees" have suffered two consecutive defeats, conceding in stoppage time. We don't know if Jordan Pickford will receive another late goal, but it will be very difficult for him to save the team from another failure. The fact is that Everton has lost to the "Citizens" in their last nine home matches. Considering such a depressing statistic for the hosts, stopping Guardiola's machine, when it is in full swing rushing to the title, will be something out of the realm of fantasy.

Bet: Manchester City to win

Round Summary

The Premier League round will, as always, present many colourful billboards. And if we agree with the bookmaker's odds in the main event, for example, we do not believe in Sunderland's success on the road against the "Wolves". The same applies to Tottenham, who are visiting a very difficult opponent, and without their main creative unit. However, this is just the opinion of our editorial team. Listen to it, but primarily rely on your own feelings – and bet wisely!
