UEFA Europa League Predictions & Betting Tips 30/01/2025

Manchester United remain one of the three teams that haven’t lost a single game in the Europa League this term, and they will want to remain unbeaten in the group phase when they face FCSB in the last round.

Tottenham bounced back to winning ways after three winless Europa League matches following a tight but entertaining 3-2 win over Hoffenheim in Germany. And they will want to wrap up the group phase with a win when they host IF Elfsborg in England.

Our predictions for the UEFA Europa League matchday 8 predictions were based on current form, data and expert knowledge.

UEFA Europa League 2024/25 Gameweek 8 Predictions and Betting Tips: 30/01/2025

FC Twente and Besiktas to display their attacking threats: Twente vs Besiktas

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Matches involving Besiktas most times produce three or more goals, and we expect the same in the upcoming game.

Besiktas thrashed Athletic Bilbao 4-2 in the last round, while FC Twente won 3-2 away from home against Malmo. Over three goals were scored in their respective match, and we think the upcoming game will follow suit.

FC Twente vs Besiktas prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Real Sociedad to bounce back to winning ways: Real Sociedad vs PAOK

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • PAOK may have won their last three matches, but they are unlikely to pull off a win in Spain.

Real Sociedad dropped points in the last round against Lazio away, but we expect them to bounce back to winning ways because they are stronger in home games, having won two of their last three home matches, while PAOK are weaker in away games, having lost two of their last three EL games.

Real Sociedad vs PAOK prediction: Home team to win

Manchester United and FCSB to exchange goals: FCSB vs Manchester United

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Manchester United kept only one clean sheet in their last seven Europa League games, and we expect them to concede against FCSB.

FSCB scored 10 goals in 7 Europa League matches, and their current form, coupled with Manchester United’s away form, suggests both teams may exchange goals. United didn’t keep a clean sheet in three away EL matches, and we think they are unlikely to keep one in Romania.

FCSB vs Manchester United prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Nice and Bodo/Glimt to exchange goals: Nice vs Bodo/Glimt

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Matches involving Bodo/Glimt are fond of ending with three or more goals, and we think the upcoming game may end similarly.

Nice have already exited the competition, but we anticipate them to dominate their final match against Bodo/Glimt. The visitors have nothing to lose, and they have been scoring goals at home, yeah, in Ligue 1. We think they can play quality attacking football against Bodo/Glimt, who find it relatively easy to score goals, but we doubt if they can keep a clean sheet, having failed to do such in most of their Europa League games.

Nice vs Bodo/Glimt prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Olympiacos to maintain their winning momentum: Olympiacos vs Qarabag

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Olympiacos staged a big win in the last round against Porto, and we think they will want to wrap up their Europa League group stage campaign with a win.

Qarabag are out of the competition after six defeats in seven matches, and they are unlikely to get a win in Greece against a team that beat Porto 2-0 away. Olympiacos have a chance to finish in the top eight, but a must-win is needed.

Olympiacos vs Qarabag prediction: Home team to win

Dynamo Kyiv and RFS will exchange goals: Dynamo Kyiv vs RFS

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Both teams are already out of the competition, so we expect a free-flowing game in Hamburg.

Dynamo Kyiv lost six of their last seven Europa League matches and sit at the bottom of the group standings. They have nothing to fight for, so they may wrap up the group phase with a defeat. However, we think both teams can exchange goals, as their defense lines are somewhat poor.

Dynamo Kyiv vs RFS prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Tottenham and Elfsborg to delight fans with goals: Tottenham vs Elfsborg

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Matches involving Tottenham usually produce three or more goals, and we expect the upcoming game to follow suit.

Tottenham averaged 3.28 goals per game in seven Europa League matches, while Elfsborg averaged 2.85 goals per game in seven matches. There’s no reason why the upcoming game in London will not produce over 2.5 goals before the last minute.

Tottenham vs Elfsborg prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Midtjylland and Fenerbahce will exchange goals: Midtjylland vs Fenerbahce

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Both teams may be in the top 24, but a defeat for either team risks failing to qualify for the next round.

Midtjylland scored seven goals and conceded seven goals in seven matches, while Fenerbahce scored seven goals and let in nine goals in seven matches. Both teams will be anxious to get the first goal, and because the Turkish side has struggled to keep clean sheets, we think both clubs may struggle to keep a clean sheet.

Midtjylland vs Fenerbahce prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Porto to delight fans with goals: Maccabi Tel-Aviv vs Porto

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Both teams have defensive issues, and we can anticipate at least three goals from the upcoming game.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv averaged 3.42 goals per game in seven matches, while Porto averaged 3.28 goals per game in seven matches. Expecting over 2.5 goals from the upcoming encounter isn’t a stretch, given that most of their Europa League matches ended with three or more goals.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv vs Porto prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Slavia Praha and Malmo to display their attacking prowess: Slavia Praha vs Malmo

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Both teams are out of the competition, so there’s no need not to expect a free-flowing attacking game from the upcoming game.

Malmo scored twice but conceded three against FC Twente. They don’t have issues scoring goals, but because they play away from home, we doubt they can keep a clean slate against a Slavia Praha side that scored in their last three home Europa League games.

Slavia Praha vs Malmo prediction: Both teams to score - yes

AS Roma and Eintracht Frankfurt will exchange goals: AS Roma vs Eintracht Frankfurt

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • AS Roma need the win to avoid elimination, but Eintracht Frankfurt can get on the scoreboard.

Both teams have different motives in the upcoming game. Roma need a win to ensure they finish in the top 24, while Eintracht Frankfurt are already certain of a top-eight finish and are unlikely to be entirely alert at the back. The Germans scored 14 goals, which is 2.0 goals per game, and we expect them to get a goal against Roma, who will not find it complex to do the same.

AS Roma vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Ajax and Galatasaray to display their attacking prowess: Ajax vs Galatasaray

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Matches involving either team usually produce three or more goals, and we expect the upcoming game to follow suit.

Ajax may have lost 1-0 to RFS in the last round, but most of their Europa League matches ended with over 2.5 goals. They averaged 3.0 goals per game, while Galatasaray averaged 4.57 goals per game. Their last match ended with six goals, so we can expect the upcoming game to end the same.

Ajax vs Galatasaray prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Lyon to bounce back to winning ways: Lyon vs Ludogorets

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Ludogorets are out of the competition, and we think they will likely finish the group stage without a win.

Lyon are in better form, and their place in the top eight proves that. They need to maintain their place to seal a direct entry to the next round, and coming up against Ludogorets, who are already out of the competition, suggests the Ligue 1 side is likely to wrap up the group phase with a win.

Lyon vs Ludogorets prediction: Home team to win

Athletic Bilbao to bounce back to winning ways: Athletic Bilbao vs Viktoria Plzen

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Athletic Bilbao may be in the top eight, but they would very much like to wrap it up with a win.

Viktoria Plzen will finish in the top 24 regardless of how this match ends and also can finish in the top four if they beat Bilbao. Plzen struggle to play at their best in away games, and they will struggle in Spain because Bilbao haven’t dropped a single point at home in the Europa League this term.

Athletic Bilbao vs Viktoria Plzen prediction: Home team to win

Anderlecht to add to Hoffenheim’s agony: Anderlecht vs Hoffenheim

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Hoffenheim are technically out of the competition and are unlikely to put up a worthy fight in Belgium.

Anderlecht can finish in the top eight when they host struggling Hoffenheim in the last round. They currently occupy 7th place with 14 points, and a win over Hoffenheim will gain them a direct entry to the next round. With the Bundesliga side already one foot outside the competition, we think Anderlecht will secure a win in front of their fans and wrap up what they can describe as a good group phase.

Anderlecht vs Hoffenheim prediction: Home team to win

Lazio to avoid a defeat in Portugal: Braga vs Lazio

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Lazio haven’t lost a game in the Europa League, and we don’t expect them to do so now.

Braga need a win to finish in the top 24, but Lazio are eager to remain unbeaten in the group phase, having won all seven matches. They may not push for the win, but they will avoid a defeat against a Braga side that has endured mixed results.

Braga vs Lazio prediction: Away team to win or draw

Rangers and Union Saint-Gilloise to exchange goals: Rangers vs Union Saint-Gilloise

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Both teams are expected to participate in the next round of the competition, and we expect a free-flowing game in Scotland.

Rangers scored against Manchester United but will obviously do the same against Union Saint-Gilloise. Both teams are expected to finish in the top 24 regardless of the result, so we expect both teams to attack freely and get on the scoresheet.

Rangers vs Union Saint-Gilloise prediction: Both teams to score - yes

AZ Alkmaar and Ferencváros to exchange goals: AZ Alkmaar vs Ferencváros

  • Date: 30/01/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Both teams haven’t struggled to score goals, and we don’t expect them to in the upcoming game.

AZ Alkmaar scored 10 goals in 7 matches, but they conceded 9 goals. That’s a good thing, as they are likely to concede at least once against Ferencváros, who scored 11 goals and conceded 12 goals. We expect the visitors to play aggressively, as they need a win to secure their place in the top 24.

AZ Alkmaar vs Ferencváros prediction: Both teams to score - yes
