UEFA Champions League Knockout Phase Predictions: 18/02/2025

AC Milan must win the second leg if they fancy going through to the next round of the competition, having succumbed to a narrow 1-0 defeat in the first leg. Their recent home form suggests they can turn the tide around, but they cannot overlook the threats in Feyenoord’s team, just as we saw them score three times against Manchester City at the Etihad.
Bayern Munich sealed a tight 2-1 win away against Celtic, but they are increasingly likely to get the job done in Germany in the return leg.
This week’s UEFA Champions League Knockout Stage predictions were based on current form, data, and expert knowledge.
UEFA Champions League Knockout Phase predictions: 18/02/2025
AC Milan and Feyenoord to display their attacking mastery: Milan vs Feyenoord
- Date: 18/02/2025
- Kick-off: 18:45
- The first leg may have ended in a 1-0 defeat for Milan, but the return leg promises goals, as both teams will be eager to get that first goal.
AC Milan need to score at least two goals and not concede in a bid to go through to the next round, but it is almost unlikely that the Dutchmen will be quiet. They scored against Bayern Munich and Manchester City, so it is logical to expect them to do the same in Milan.
AC Milan vs Feyenoord prediction: Both teams to score - yes
Benfica and Monaco to exchange goals: Benfica vs Monaco
- Date: 18/02/2025
- Kick-off: 21:00
- Benfica may have won the first leg with a clean sheet, but it is rare for the Portuguese side to go two UCL matches without conceding.
Somehow, Monaco find it easy to get on the scoreboard as visitors. They scored twice in Paris against PSG some weeks ago, and having failed to score in the first leg and Benfica’s current struggles at the back, we expect the Frenchmen to pull a goal back at least. Benfica scored and conceded in three of their last five matches. The upcoming game may follow suit.
Benfica vs Monaco prediction: Both teams to score - yes
Atalanta to turn things around in Italy: Atalanta vs Club Brugge
- Date: 18/02/2025
- Kick-off: 21:00
- Atalanta lost the first leg by a small margin, but they can turn things around in front of their fans.
Atalanta fell short in Belgium in the first leg after an injury-time goal from the hosts. They were the favorites to win that encounter, but one or two things went wrong. However, they rarely drop points in front of their fans, and with Club Brugge struggling to play at their best away from home, there’s a decent chance that the Italians will turn the event around. A one-goal win margin can drag this encounter to extra time, which looks feasible.
Atalanta vs Club Brugge prediction: Home team to win
Bayern Munich to continue their dominance over the Scots: Bayern Munich vs Celtic
- Date: 18/02/2025
- Kick-off: 21:00
- Bayern Munich haven’t lost to Celtic in any European game, and we expect this to continue in the upcoming game.
Bayern Munich host Celtic in Germany with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg in Scotland. The Bavarians enjoy coming up against Celtic, as they are unbeaten against the Scots in five UCL meetings, winning four and drawing one, including the first leg. There’s a good chance the Bundesliga giants can put three goals past the Scottish giants, thanks to the array of quality players at Vincent Kompany’s disposal.
