Premier League predictions: Round 34: 26/04-01/05

09 Feb, 13:35

Will Chelsea build on their recent form when they take on Everton this weekend? The Blues came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1 away from home, and now their chances of finishing in the top five are decent, but they have to continue from last weekend, given that most of their competitors for the top places won their games over the weekend as well. So, will they get around Everton?

Manchester United succumbed to a 1-0 home defeat to Wolves last weekend, courtesy of Sarabia’s second-half free-kick, but they need a response this weekend when they face Bournemouth away from home. Yes, the Red Devils are putting all their eggs in the Europa League, but they cannot afford to face Athletic Bilbao coming off two defeats since their heroic comeback against Lyon. So, can we expect a big display from the Red Devils?

We took a look at this round’s Premier League fixtures and came out with the best possible outcomes.

Premier League predictions: Round 34: 26/04-01/05

Chelsea to continue their winning form: Chelsea vs Everton

  • Date: 26/04/2025
  • Kick-off: 13:30 CET
  • Everton struggle when they come up against Chelsea away from home, and we expect them to fall short in London.

Chelsea last lost a home league game against Everton in 1994. The Blues are pushing for a top-five finish, while the Toffees have successfully avoided relegation this term. Chelsea need the win the most, and coupled with their home form against David Moyes’ side, we can risk backing Enzo Maresca’s side to win the tie.

Chelsea vs Everton prediction: Home team to win

Wolves and Leicester City will entertain fans with goals: Wolves vs Leicester City

  • Date: 26/04/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00 CET
  • Goals are usually scored when both teams meet, so we cannot rule out the same from the upcoming game.

Wolves and Leicester City have met many times in the Premier League, but their last five meetings reflect the nature of this encounter. Four of them ended with over 2.5 goals, and because the Foxes have one of the worst defense lines in the league, we can expect the same from the upcoming game.

Wolves vs Leicester City prediction: Total goals - over 2.5

Fans will be entertained: Newcastle United vs Ipswich Town

  • Date: 26/04/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00 CET
  • Newcastle United entertained their fans with goals in the reverse fixture, and there’s no reason not to expect them to repeat the same at home.

Ipswich Town lost 4-0 to Newcastle Utd in the reverse fixture last year, and with the Magpies still scoring goals for fun, there’s a big chance the same will happen this weekend.

Newcastle United vs Ipswich Town prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Corners will come in excess: Brighton vs West Ham United

  • Date: 26/04/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00 CET
  • Both teams relish the opportunity to create goalscoring chances from the flags, so we can expect the same from the upcoming game.

Brighton and West Ham are no strangers in this competition, and their last five meetings say a lot about these encounters. Both teams combined produced 10.8 corners per game in their last five league games, and with this encounter expected to be a game of two halves, we can count on at least nine corners from the upcoming game.

Brighton vs West Ham prediction: Total corners - over 8.5

Fulham to bounce back to winning ways: Southampton vs Fulham

  • Date: 26/04/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00 CET
  • Southampton held Fulham to a goalless draw in the reverse fixture, but we doubt they will do the same this weekend.

Okay, Fulham didn’t actually dominate Southampton in their last few games, especially at the St. Mary’s Stadium, but there’s a huge difference in form between both teams. We expect the Cottagers not to be as blunt in the attack this weekend as they were last year against the Saints.

Southampton vs Fulham prediction: Away team to win

Both teams will entertain fans with goals: Bournemouth vs Manchester United

  • Date: 27/04/2025
  • Kick-off: 15:00 CET
  • Goals are usually scored in matches involving both teams, so we can witness the same this weekend.

Bournemouth and Manchester United won twice each in their last five meetings, so neither team dominated in this short period. However, we noticed that four of these meetings ended with three or more goals. It will be unwise to think something different will happen this weekend, given that United will be half serious about the game due to their involvement in the Europa League.

Bournemouth vs Manchester United prediction: Total goals - over 2.5

Liverpool to win the Premier League: Liverpool vs Tottenham

  • Date: 27/04/2025
  • Kick-off: 17:30 CET
  • Tottenham have been poor this season, so we expect them to wrap up this month with a defeat.

Liverpool are one win away from winning the Premier League, and they will do it this weekend against Spurs. The visitors lost to Nottingham at home last weekend, having rested some players due to their involvement in the Europa League. Spurs originally struggled against the Reds, so no surprise here backing the hosts to get the win.

Liverpool vs Tottenham prediction: Home team to win

Nottingham and Brentford will exchange goals: Nottingham Forest vs Brentford

  • Date: 01/05
  • Kick-off: 20:30 CET
  • Both teams easily find the back of the net when they cross paths, so we can’t expect anything different to happen in the upcoming game.

Nottingham Forest and Brentford exchanged goals in four of their last five matches, and three of them ended with over 2.5 goals. We can either pick goals from both ends or over 2.5, but we chose the former.

Nottingham vs Brentford prediction: Both teams to score - yes
