09 Apr, 08:58

This preview compiles predictions for the matches of the 32nd round of the English Championship. Find all football predictions in the football section, and the full list of predictions for the world's top league on the Premier League Predictions page. The beloved championship returns after a three-week break and will delight us with games over four consecutive days. With seven rounds remaining, the battle for survival and European competition spots is heating up, and the intrigue in the title race is still alive!

West Ham – Wolverhampton

The 32nd round kicks off in London with a battle of the underdogs. If Wolverhampton, who completely failed the first half of the season, have no real chances of salvation, West Ham is right in the thick of the relegation battle. The "Wolves" haven't played for almost a month, whereas the "Hammers" put on a spectacular cup show against Leeds last weekend, losing in a penalty shootout (2:4). Despite the defeat, the match fitness of Nuno Espírito Santo's team is a big plus. The Londoners have lost to Wolverhampton in their last three encounters, but all of them were away games. It's time for revenge, as West Ham has defeated their opponent in their last five home matches.

Bet: West Ham to win

Arsenal – Bournemouth

In the first match of Saturday's schedule at the "Emirates," Arsenal will face Bournemouth. Mikel Arteta's team suffered two consecutive cup defeats but secured a crucial victory over Sporting (2:1) in the Champions League on Tuesday. However, precious energy was expended, and they still need it for the return match. This could be a significant factor against the "Cherries," who will be fresher and are unbeaten in 11 matches in a row. Additionally, Andoni Iraola's side has beaten Arsenal in 2 of the last 3 head-to-head meetings, scoring more than 1.5 goals in all three. This is a very strong and resilient opponent!

Bet: Bournemouth to win with a handicap (+1.5)

Brentford – Everton

Before the start of the season, few could have predicted that these teams would be fighting for a spot in European competitions, but that's the reality. The seventh spot, which grants a place in the UEFA Conference League playoff round, currently belongs to Brentford, but Keith Andrews' men are not in the best form, as evidenced by a four-match winless streak. Everton, on the other hand, are on a positive wave after thrashing Chelsea (3:0). Throughout the season, the "Toffees" have been more successful on the road, where they have only lost to Arsenal in the last seven matches.(0:2). It is also worth noting that in 5 of the last 6 away games, David Moyes' protégés scored in the second half.

Bet: Everton to score in the 2nd half

Burnley – Brighton

Here is another team whose chances of staying in the Premier League seem only mathematical. Burnley has only one win in the last 22 rounds, and that was an away game. Their opponents, Brighton, have won 4 of their last 5 matches and could well contend for European competition spots. In the first round meeting, the "Seagulls" confidently defeated the "Clarets" with a score of 2:0, and even Scott Parker admitted that his team fully deserved such an outcome. Will anything change now? Unlikely, considering Burnley has conceded more than 1.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 home Premier League matches. Even Mansfield from the third-tier division scored twice at "Turf Moor".

Bet: Brighton total over 1.5 goals

Liverpool – Fulham

Liverpool will take to the field at their home "Anfield" in an attempt to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat. Considering the current form of the "Reds", this does not seem an exaggeration. Defeats to Brighton in the Premier League (1:2), to Man City in the FA Cup (0:4), and to PSG in the Champions League (0:2). The question arises, will Arne Slot last until the end of the season? Fulham, who have not lost to them in 4 of the last 5 head-to-head meetings, and have gained decent form by the end of March, are visiting the "Scousers". It is worth noting that the teams have exchanged goals in seven consecutive encounters, with at least two goals scored in the last three. We are expecting exciting football!

Bet: both teams to score (yes)

Crystal Palace – Newcastle

At the time of writing this preview, it is unknown how Crystal Palace's first quarter-final match in the Conference League ended, but one thing is certain – they won't be able to conserve energy in the battle with Fiorentina. Newcastle will be fresher and likely able to count on Bruno Guimarães. The captain's return is a huge boost for the midfield. An important feature of the head-to-head encounters between the teams is that 8 of the last 9 have ended without both teams scoring. The same applies to the last four home games of the "Eagles". We wouldn't be surprised if the upcoming match ends in a goalless draw or a minimal victory for the visitors.

Nottingham Forest – Aston Villa

The 32nd round of the Premier League will bring together two quarter-finalists of the Europa League. We can't wait for the end of the European matches, so we will make predictions based on the available data. The tournament situation is clear: Nottingham is fighting to stay in the top flight, while Aston Villa is aiming for a spot in the Champions League. However, trips to the "City Ground" have been challenging for the "Lions" – they lost the last two visits. We believe the "Foresters" will put up a fight this time as well. We recommend considering a bet on a draw in the first half, which has been recorded in the last five home matches of Forest in the EPL. The opponents will be tired after their away Europa League quarter-finals and will not want to take risks. Don't take risks either, by choosing only the best bookmakers!

Bet: draw in the 1st half

Sunderland – Tottenham

We head to the "Stadium of Light," where one of the most intriguing matches of the round will take place. Igor Tudor's coaching journey at Tottenham ended in an ignominious defeat to Nottingham (0:3). The "Spurs" risk being relegated from the EPL for the first time in history, and the new manager, Roberto De Zerbi, must prevent this from happening. Once unbeatable at home, Sunderland has lost three consecutive matches at their stadium, so the Italian coach has every chance to successfully start his journey at Tottenham. At the very least, we certainly don't see the visitors as underdogs. Usually, with the arrival of a new coach, teams receive a positive boost, unless that coach is Igor Tudor.

Bet: Tottenham will not lose

Chelsea – Manchester City

The central fixture of the round will close the Sunday schedule. Chelsea, who fell apart in March, will host Man City, who still hold faint hopes for the title. The "Citizens," having consecutively defeated Arsenal (2:0) and Liverpool (4:0), look truly powerful and have won 3 out of their last 4 matches at "Stamford Bridge." In the first round, they miraculously missed out on a victory against Chelsea, who had youth team coach Callum McFarlane on the sidelines, conceding to Enzo Fernandez in the 94th minute. However, the Argentine will not play in the upcoming match due to club disciplinary sanctions. This is a huge loss, significantly reducing the already low chances of the hosts for success.

Bet: Manchester City to win with a handicap (0)

Manchester United – Leeds

The "Theatre of Dreams" will be the venue for the final match of the 32nd round. Manchester has slowed down before the international break, losing Points in 2 of the last 3 rounds. However, both setbacks were away games, whereas at home, with the arrival of Michael Carrick, the "Red Devils" have secured 15 points out of a possible 15, each time scoring more than 1.5 goals. Leeds drew in 7 of the last 8 away matches in the championship, yet they managed to concede twice in added time during the cup match against West Ham last weekend. The defense is even worse at "Old Trafford," where the "Peacocks" have conceded 13 goals in their last three official visits.

Betting tip: total over 1.5 goals by Manchester United

Round Summary

The 32nd round promises to be very interesting, as there are virtually no unimportant matches – each one carries tournament significance. Except for the game between Chelsea and Man City, we are most looking forward to the meeting at the "Stadium of Light." It will be very intriguing to see what Roberto De Zerbi's Tottenham will be like. Will the Italian immediately implement his signature style of football, or will he choose to act more pragmatically to ensure a secure spot in the Premier League?
