Premier League predictions: Nottingham vs Man City, MU vs Arsenal: 08/03- 10/03

09 Feb, 13:35

Will Manchester United build on their current Premier League form when they host 2nd-placed Arsenal this weekend? Man United went against the odds to beat Ipswich Town 3-2 at home with a red card, and they have to replicate the same energy against the Gunners this weekend to climb higher up the standings.

Chelsea bounced back to winning ways with a comfortable win over relegation-threatened Southampton, and they look set on getting yet another win, as they will be hosting Leicester City this Sunday.

This week’s Premier League 2024/25 gameweek 28 predictions were based on current form, data, and expert knowledge.

Premier League 2024/25 gameweek 28 predictions

Nottingham Forest to struggle: Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City

  • Date: 08/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 13:30
  • Manchester City love coming up against Nottingham Forest, and they may continue their dominance over the Tricky Trees this weekend.

Nottingham Forest may sit in the top four, but their current form and poor record against Manchester City may cost them the game. City won four and drew one of their last five league meetings with Forest, and with the hosts winning only once in their previous five matches, the chances of Man City getting the win at the City Ground are high.

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City prediction: Away team to win

Liverpool will have an easy ride: Liverpool vs Southampton

  • Date: 08/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00
  • Southampton are in no match to stage a fright at Anfield.

Southampton are the favourites to get relegated this term due to their drastic form, and coming up against the league leaders as the bottom-placed team means they are likely to get battered in both halves.

Liverpool vs Southampton prediction: Home team to win

Crystal Palace to continue their winning momentum: Crystal Palace vs Ipswich Town

  • Date: 08/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00
  • Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town met for the first time in the Premier League last year, and Palace won the encounter 1-0. The Eagles are in better form, so expecting a win from the hosts isn’t being delusional.

Crystal Palace won their last two league matches, and in their last five league games, they won three. They sit in 12th place and are pushing for a top 10 finish. Ipswich Town are fighting against relegation, and their poor form will stop them from staging a win in Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace vs Ipswich Town prediction: Home team to win

Brighton and Fulham to exchange goals: Brighton vs Fulham

  • Date: 08/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00
  • Both teams have encountered each other on many occasions in this competition, and finding the back of the net hasn’t been a problem for either team.

Brighton and Fulham already met this season, and the Cottagers won the encounter 3-1. We expect the Seagulls to play much better than last time and avoid losing back-to-back to Fulham. Both teams scored against each other in three of their previous five league meetings, and rather than backing one side to come away with a win, we expect goals from both teams.

Brighton vs Fulham prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Brentford and Aston Villa to exchange goals: Brentford vs Aston Villa

  • Date: 06/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 18:30
  • Both teams find it relatively easy to find the back of the net when they cross paths, and we expect them to repeat the same in the upcoming game.

Brentford and Aston Villa have a long list of meetings in the Premier League, but we would rather focus on their last five encounters. Four of their last five meetings ended with at least three goals, and both teams scored in four of these meetings. There’s no reason not to expect goals from both ends.

Brentford vs Aston Villa prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Wolves to avoid a defeat: Wolves vs Everton

  • Date: 06/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Wolves enjoy coming up against Everton, although they lost the reverse fixture by a huge margin.

Everton thrashed Wolves 4-0 the last time they met, but that was their last victory over the Wanderers since 2021. Matheus Cunha may be absent for the upcoming game, but we expect the Wolves, who won five of their previous seven meetings with Everton, to avoid a defeat in front of their fans.

Wolves vs Everton prediction: Home team to win or draw

Tottenham and Bournemouth to exchange goals: Tottenham vs Bournemouth

  • Date: 09/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 15:00
  • Goals are usually scored in matches involving both teams, and the upcoming game will not different.

Three of their last five Premier League meetings ended with three or more goals. Both teams scored in three of their last five matches. Tottenham rarely fails to score at home, and with Bournemouth scoring against nearly every team, it's reasonable to expect both teams to score in the upcoming game.

Tottenham vs Bournemouth prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Chelsea to maintain their winning momentum: Chelsea vs Leicester City

  • Date: 09/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 15:00
  • Leicester City have lost to almost every team, and turning this around at Stamford Bridge looks impossible.

Chelsea bounced back to winning ways last time out with a thumping 4-0 win over Southampton. The Blues always come out on top against teams fighting against relegation, and because Leicester are in such a situation, we can lean on the Blues to come away with the win.

Chelsea vs Leicester City prediction: Home team to win

Manchester United and Arsenal to exchange goals: Manchester United vs Arsenal

  • Date: 09/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 17:30
  • Both teams always display their attacking brilliance when they come up against each other, and we can expect the same from the upcoming encounter.

Manchester United and Arsenal found the back of the net in three of their last five Premier League meetings. Both teams also scored during their meeting in the FA Cup, and expecting the same from the upcoming game isn’t delusional, although United have some issues across their front line.

Manchester United vs Arsenal prediction: Both teams to score - yes

West Ham and Newcastle United to find the back of the net: West Ham vs Newcastle United

  • Date: 10/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Both teams enjoy displaying their attacking points when they meet, and their previous meetings suggest that fans will expect goals at the London Stadium.

In three of their last five Premier League matches, West Ham and Newcastle United have scored goals. Although the reverse fixture ended in a 2-0 win for the Hammers, we expect both teams to entertain their fans with goals.

West Ham vs Newcastle United prediction: Both teams to score - yes
