Sporting dropped two crucial points in the Liga Portugal title race but remained first, four points above second-placed Benfica. FC Porto were caught by Braga at 43 points, but Porto’s better goal difference kept them third.

With Santa Clara winning their last two games and trailing Braga by five points in fifth place, the race for a European spot is intensifying. Each of the four teams that are currently in the bottom four of the standings suffered a defeat in gameweek 21 as they compete for a chance to move out of the relegation zone.
