FA Cup 2024/25 Predictions: 4th Round: 07/02 - 11/02

09 Feb, 13:35

Having eliminated Arsenal at the Emirates in a penalty shootout, Manchester United will welcome struggling Leicester City at Old Trafford in the FA Cup 4th round, and the odds identify them as the favorites to advance to the next round. We can confidently agree with the bookies thanks to United’s display against the Gunners.

Aston Villa and Tottenham will face each other at Villa Park, as Brighton & Hove Albion welcome struggling Chelsea at the Amex Stadium. Manchester City and Liverpool were drawn against lower-division teams, which suggests both Premier League giants are already one foot into the next round.

FA Cup 2024/25 4th round predictions were based on current form, data, and expert knowledge.

FA Cup 2024/25 4th round predictions: 07/02/2025 - 11/02/2025

Manchester United to advance to the next round: Manchester United vs Leicester City

  • Date: 07/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Leicester City struggle against Manchester United, and we expect them to fall short in Manchester.

Manchester United thrashed Leicester City in both Premier League matches this season, and having eliminated Arsenal from the competition, it is proper to expect the Red Devils to advance to the next round at ease.

Manchester United vs Leicester City prediction: Home team to win

Manchester City and Leyton Orient to delight fans with goals: Leyton Orient vs Manchester City

  • Date: 08/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 13:15
  • Leyton Orient may have defended properly in the last round, but they are unlikely to prevent Man City from going on a scoring spree.

Manchester City scored eight goals past Salford City in the last round, and while we doubt they can score that many in the next round, Leyton Orient are unlikely to prevent City from scoring three or more goals.

Leyton Orient vs Manchester City prediction: Away team total goals: Over 2.5

Coventry and Ipswich Town to exchange goals: Coventry City vs Ipswich Town

  • Date: 08/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00
  • Ipswich Town may be the favorites to advance to the next round, but they are unlikely to keep a clean sheet.

Coventry City may not be one of the best goalscoring teams in this competition, but they somehow step up against a Premier League side. They scored three goals against Manchester United in the semi-final of this competition last term. Having scored against Sheffield Wednesday in the last round, we think they can get at least one goal against Ipswich Town, who wouldn’t struggle to find the back of the net.

Coventry City vs Ipswich Town prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Burnley to find the back of the net: Southampton vs Burnley

  • Date: 08/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00
  • Southampton are obviously the favourites to win the upcoming game but Burnley will score.

Burnley scored three times in the last round of the FA Cup as visitors, and with Southampton likely to start with a weakened team and with their focus on avoiding relegation this term, the Clarets have a decent chance of eliminating the Premier League side. However, we prefer to expect at least one goal from the Championship side.

Southampton vs Burnley prediction: Away team total goals: Over 0.5

Everton and Bournemouth to exchange goals: Everton vs Bournemouth

  • Date: 08/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00
  • The Cherries are in top form, but they are expected to start with a weakened team against the Toffees.

Everton haven’t lost a game under new management, and they will try to avoid a defeat at home against Bournemouth. Because the Cherries are likely to start with a weakened team coupled with the Toffees’ home advantage, we think both teams are likely to exchange goals at Goodison Park.

Everton vs Bournemouth prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Fulham to advance to the next round: Wigan vs Fulham

  • Date: 08/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00
  • Wigan may be the hosts, but they do not have the quality to eliminate Fulham.

Despite playing as visitors, the Cottagers are the favorites to win the upcoming encounter. The Premier League side has secured impressive results against the best teams in England, and the game against Wigan may be lightweight work.

Wigan vs Fulham prediction: Away team to win

Newcastle United to advance to the next round: Birmingham City vs Newcastle United

  • Date: 08/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 18:45
  • Birmingham City will rather focus on earning promotion back to the Championship than fight with Newcastle United for a place in the next round of the FA Cup.

Newcastle United are pushing for a top four finish, yeah, but they believe they can go all the way to the final and win the cup. They will play to win the game against the League One team and will achieve their aim, thanks to the quality of players at Eddie Howe’s disposal.

Birmingham City vs Newcastle United prediction: Away team to win

Brighton and Chelsea to exchange goals: Brighton vs Chelsea

  • Date: 08/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Both Premier League teams will fight for a place in the next round, and they will relish the chance to display their attacking prowess.

Brighton and Chelsea are fond of exchanging goals when they cross paths, and in a knockout game like this, both teams will likely play on the front foot and eventually get on the score sheets as both clubs have struggled to keep clean sheets this term.

Brighton vs Chelsea prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Blackburn Rovers and Wolves will exchange goals: Blackburn Rovers vs Wolves

  • Date: 09/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 13:30
  • Blackburn Rovers may struggle to score goals, but Wolves have one of the worst defenses in the Premier League and will struggle against Rovers.

Blackburn Rovers eliminated Middlesbrough with a tight 1-0 victory away from home, and there’s every reason to expect them to score in front of their fans even though they act as underdogs against Wolves. Despite the chaos in the Wanderers' defense, they manage to score easily.

Blackburn Rovers vs Wolves prediction: Both teams to score - yes

A light work awaits Liverpool: Plymouth Argyle vs Liverpool

  • Date: 09/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 16:00
  • Plymouth Argyle’s FA Cup journey ends here.

Liverpool will start with a weakened team, knowing that their team B can effortlessly beat Plymouth Argyle, who are struggling against relegation from the Championship.

Plymouth Argyle vs Liverpool prediction: Away team to win

Aston Villa and Tottenham to exchange goals: Aston Villa vs Tottenham

  • Date: 09/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 18:35
  • Both Premier League teams don’t struggle to score goals, and we expect goals from both ends.

Aston Villa effortlessly scored goals against any opponents. They scored and conceded in their 2-1 win over West Ham United in the last round; we think they can repeat the same against Spurs; after all, they are the favorites to advance to the next round.

Aston Villa vs Tottenham prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Doncaster Rovers and Crystal Palace to produce two goals: Doncaster Rovers vs Crystal Palace

  • Date: 09/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 20:45
  • At least two goals are to be scored in the upcoming encounter.

Two goals were scored in Doncaster Rovers’ last FA Cup game, and coming up against a Crystal Palace side that has been scoring goals lately suggests we are likely to expect two or more goals.

Doncaster Rovers vs Crystal Palace prediction: Over 1.5 goals

Nottingham Forest to advance to the next round: Exeter City vs Nottingham Forest

  • Date: 09/02/2025
  • Kick-off: 21:00
  • Exeter may have thrashed Oxford United, but they are unlikely to advance further against Nottingham Forest.

The Tricky Trees are pushing for a top four finish, but they still believe they can challenge for the FA Cup title. They may play as visitors, but they are likely to go through to the next round, thanks to their current formidable form.

Exeter City vs Nottingham Forest prediction: Away team to win
