CAF World Cup Qualification: Predictions 24/03/2025

22 Mar, 10:32

Ghana enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 win over Chad in front of their fans, but now can they replicate this form as visitors when they face Madagascar?

Ivory Coast will welcome Gambia as Mali takes a trip to the Central African Republic. Tunisia and Malawi will dig it out in Tunis, while Ethiopia will look to impress their fans when they host Djibouti.

This round’s CAF World Cup Qualification predictions were based on current form, data, and expert knowledge.

CAF World Cup Qualification predictions: 24/03/2025

Namibia and Equatorial Guinea will struggle in the final third: Namibia vs Equatorial Guinea

  • Date: 24/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 14:00
  • Both teams struggle in the attacking half, and their form doesn’t promise many goals from the upcoming game.

Namibia and Equatorial Guinea are struggling to score many goals, and with their inconsistency, we doubt either team can score two or more goals. Although three goals were scored when they met last, both teams’ most current games ended with less than three goals. We see no reason not to expect the same from the upcoming game.

Namibia vs Equatorial Guinea prediction: Under 2.5 goals

Liberia to do the double: Liberia vs Sao Tome and Principe

  • Date: 24/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 17:00
  • Sao Tome and Principe has improved defensively, but we expect Liberia to find a way and get the points.

The last time both teams met, Liberia won 1-0. Both teams have endured poor performances lately, but Liberia is identified as the favorite, and thanks to their home advantage, we can expect a win from the hosts.

Liberia vs Sao Tome and Principe prediction: Home team to win

Mali to continue their fine form: Central African Republic vs Mali

  • Date: 24/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 17:00
  • Central African Republic are in dire form, and coming up against a well-organized team like Mali looks like a dead end.

Mali avoided a defeat in their last seven competitive matches, including their recent 3-0 away win over Comoros. CAR’s defense is weak, which explains the six defeats in seven competitive matches. The hosts are unlikely to prevent the Malians from finding the back of the net at least on three occasions.

Central African Republic vs Mali prediction: Away team to win

Burkina Faso to avoid a defeat on the road: Guinea-Bissau vs Burkina Faso

  • Date: 24/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 17:00
  • Guinea-Bissau are in poor form, so it is unwise to side with them to avoid a defeat against a Burkina Faso side that has performed better in recent games.

Guinea-Bissau won just once in their last seven competitive matches. They lost 3-1 to Sierra Leone away from home and are expecting them to put in a good shift against a Burkina Faso side that won their last two competitive matches. This game will be cagey, but we expect the visitors to come away with a win or draw.

Guinea-Bissau vs Burkina Faso prediction: Away team to win or draw

Ghana and Madagascar will exchange goals: Madagascar vs Ghana

  • Date: 24/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 20:00
  • Both countries haven’t struggled in the face of goals, so we can anticipate at least one goal from each end.

Ghana may have won the first leg 1-0 in Accra, but we expect a much-improved performance from Madagascar in front of their fans. Having scored nine goals in five matches, we expect the hosts to find the back of the net, and of course, the Ghanaians have some brilliant individuals that can easily get on the scoresheet.

Madagascar vs Ghana prediction: Both teams to score - yes

Ivory Coast to continue their unbeaten run: Ivory Coast vs Gambia

  • Date: 24/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 20:00
  • Gambia don’t have issues scoring goals, but their defense has been poor, and that’s something Ivory Coast would relish to explore.

Ivory Coast sit at the top of the group with zero goals conceded after five matches. Gambia’s defense is poor, and we don’t expect them to keep a clean sheet against Côte d’Ivoire, whose attack is one of the best in the competition.

Ivory Coast vs Gambia prediction: Home team to win

Tunisia to continue their unbeaten run: Tunisia vs Malawi

  • Date: 24/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 22:00
  • Malawi are not in their right form to dream of a win over a Tunisia team that hasn’t experienced a defeat in this competition.

Tunisia have avoided a defeat in their opening five CAF World Cup Qualifier matches, winning four and drawing one. Malawi are the opposite of them, losing three and winning two. Aside from Tunisia’s unbeaten run, their defense is one of the best, having kept a clean sheet in all five matches. The visitors will struggle to find the back of the net, let alone dream of a win.

Tunisia vs Malawi prediction: Home team to win

Ethiopia to end their winless run: Ethiopia vs Djibouti

  • Date: 24/03/2025
  • Kick-off: 22:00
  • Both teams haven’t won a game in five attempts in the CAF WC Qualifiers, but Ethiopia have a big chance of changing that.

Djibouti have one of the worst defenses in the competition, having conceded 14 goals in five matches. They lost four of their last five, which makes Ethiopia the better team, having drawn three of their last five. The hosts will want to impress their fans and join the list of teams that have stressed Djibouti.

Ethiopia vs Djibouti prediction: Home team to win
