Predictions for the 6th round of the Bundesliga, October 3-5

09 Feb, 13:35

Hoffenheim vs Cologne

The sixth round of the Bundesliga kicks off in Sinsheim, where Hoffenheim will host Cologne. The "Blue-Whites" have scored in all six matches of the new season, so at least one goal can be expected from them. However, Ilzer's team has not been shining in defense, conceding in five consecutive games. Cologne started energetically but lost in the last two rounds. Nevertheless, the team plays attractively and has also scored in all six matches of the season, although they have conceded in the previous four encounters.

Match Prediction for Hoffenheim vs Cologne: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

Bayer vs Union

Leverkusen is unbeaten in 6 consecutive matches and secured a hard-fought victory in Hamburg against St. Pauli (2:1) in the last round. Union dropped points in a home match against another Hamburg team (0:0), but they remain a formidable force, even away. Their match in the 4th round against Eintracht (4:3) is worth noting. Bayer has not lost to the capital team in 9 consecutive matches, and it is unlikely that this streak will end now against the less stable Union. However, a large number of injuries could affect the hosts' scoring ability.

Match Prediction for Bayer vs Union: Total Under 3 Goals

Augsburg vs Wolfsburg

The pressure is mounting on Sandro Wagner. Augsburg has suffered 4 consecutive defeats and is in 16th place in the table. Wolfsburg's situation is not as dire, but the "Wolves" have also lost two consecutive matches – although their opponents were noticeably stronger. Both teams achieved their only victories in the first round. The "Fuggers" have scored and conceded in every match of the season, while the "Wolves" have not scored in two consecutive rounds. At their "WWK Arena," Augsburg has not lost to Wolfsburg in three consecutive matches.

Match Prediction for Augsburg vs Wolfsburg: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

Werder vs St. Pauli

The "Musicians" urgently need to redeem themselves at the "Weser Stadium" for their home defeat to Freiburg (0:3) and the away thrashing by Bayern (0:4). After these two disastrous games, Bremen has become the worst team in the championship in terms of goals conceded – 14. St. Pauli started the season strongly but also lost the last two matches. However, the team plays attractively, and their goal in Bremen would not be a surprise. All five of Werder's starting Bundesliga matches have been high-scoring affairs.

Match Prediction for Werder vs St. Pauli: Total Over 2.5 Goals

Borussia Dortmund vs Leipzig

One of the central matches of the 6th round will be held at Signal Iduna Park. Both teams are in good shape, but unlike Leipzig, Dortmund have not lost a single match in the season yet. The confrontation looks unpredictable, despite the fact that the bookmakers consider the hosts to be the clear favorite. Starting from the 2nd round, both clubs have demonstrated high-quality defensive play: Borussia played 4 matches “to zero”, Leipzig – 3. But there is unlikely to be a dry draw in this meeting, and someone's flawless streak should be interrupted.

Match Prediction for Borussia Dortmund vs Leipzig: total under 4 goals

Eintracht vs Bayern

The Saturday program concludes with the second central match of the round in Frankfurt. Eintracht is an unpredictable team: they can score 5 goals and concede just as many. The defense of the "Eagles" looks terrible, and for Bayern, this is an excellent opportunity – the Munich team scores a lot and regularly. However, Bayern is not perfect away – they have conceded in each of the five matches this season.

Match Prediction for the Eintracht vs Bayern: Bayern to win with a handicap (-1)

Stuttgart vs Heidenheim

Sebastian Hoeneß's team is currently in good form: the "Swabians" have three consecutive victories, two of them in the Bundesliga. Heidenheim, after four initial defeats, finally secured their first win of the season. Despite this success, Frank Schmidt's team remains the underdog both in this match at the "MHP Arena" and in the championship overall.

Match Prediction for the Stuttgart vs Heidenheim: Stuttgart to win

Hamburg vs Mainz

The Bundesliga newcomers have not lost in two consecutive matches and played a clean sheet against Union in the last round. Mainz this season does not resemble their usual self – only one win in five rounds. Considering that four matches involving the "Nullfünfer" were low-scoring, and three of the last five head-to-head meetings ended in a goalless draw, a high-scoring outcome is hard to expect here. Moreover, the "Citizens" have shown discipline in defense, playing two matches with a clean sheet and conceding heavily only against Bayern away.

Match Prediction for the Hamburg vs Mainz: total under 3.5 goals

Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Freiburg

The 6th round will conclude at "Borussia-Park" in Gladbach. The local Borussia has had a terrible start: the team has not won a single match, the management has already fired the coach and parted ways with the sporting director. Getting out of the crisis quickly won't be easy – in the last two home matches, the "Foals" conceded 10 goals. Freiburg, on the other hand, after two initial defeats, has gained momentum – the team is unbeaten in 4 matches (3 wins and a draw with Hoffenheim in the last round). We expect a high-scoring game, as in the four previous head-to-head meetings between the clubs.

Match Prediction for the Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Freiburg: total over 2.5 goals
