Bundesliga predictions: Round 30: 19/04-20/04

Bayern Munich will push to return to winning ways when they visit Heidenheim this weekend following last weekend’s 2-2 home draw with Borussia Dortmund. Despite the slip on home turf, the Bavarians remain at the top of the standings with 69 points, six points above Bayer Leverkusen, who dropped points at home with Union Berlin on Saturday.
Borussia Dortmund can still make a top-four finish in the Bundesliga this season, and their 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich last weekend reflects the level of seriousness about qualifying for Champions League football next term. They host Borussia Monchengladbach this weekend, and we expect them to put in a good shift in front of their fans.
We analysed this week’s Bundesliga matches and came out with the best possible outcomes.
Bundesliga predictions: Round 30: 19/04-20/04
Many fouls to be committed: Werder Bremen vs Bochum
- Date: 19/04/2025
- Kick-off: 15:30 CET
- Matches involving both teams are usually intense, and the upcoming game promises to be fierce, as Bochum still have a chance to avoid relegation this term.
Fouls are usually committed in matches involving both teams, and with Bochum still fighting against relegation, we expect them to be fierce. On average both teams committed 26.2 fouls combined per game, and there’s a chance the number will increase in the coming game, thanks to the plans to avoid relegation this term.
Werder Bremen vs Bochum prediction: Total fouls – over 26.5
Mainz and Wolfsburg will delight fans with goals: Mainz vs Wolfsburg
- Date: 19/04/2025
- Kick-off: 15:30 CET
- Both teams do not relent in displaying their attacking prowess when they meet, and the upcoming game is another chance for the attackers to make their marks.
Mainz and Wolfsburg are familiar enemies, having shared the same pitch in the Bundesliga for many years. The hosts have performed well this term, but their current form is disturbing, winning just once in their last five league games. However, we looked at their last ten league meetings and found out that eight of those encounters ended with over 2.5 goals. Expecting 3+ goals from the upcoming game shouldn’t raise many eyebrows.
Mainz vs Wolfsburg prediction: Total goals – over 2.5
Bayern Munich to bounce back to winning ways in style: Heidenheim vs Bayern Munich
- Date: 19/04/2025
- Kick-off: 15:30 CET
- Bayern Munich effortlessly advertise their attacking prowess when they meet Heidenheim, and we expect the same from this weekend’s encounter.
Bayern Munich dropped points at home over the weekend during the 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund, so they cannot afford to drop further points this weekend, with Bayer Leverkusen sitting just six points behind them in the standings. The Bavarians haven’t sweated against Heidenheim, winning their last three league meetings. At least five goals were scored in each of those encounters, and it is important to point out that Vincent Kompany’s side didn’t keep a clean sheet in all matches. So, while we expect a win for the visitors, we can count on both teams to produce at least four goals before the final whistle, as Heidenheim, who are in the relegation battle, are expected to throw back some punches in a bid to try and stun the league leaders.
Heidenheim vs Bayern Munich prediction: Away team to win and total goals – over 3.5
Freiburg and Hoffenheim will exchange goals: Freiburg vs Hoffenheim
Date: 19/04/2025
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
Both teams struggle to shut themselves out when they cross paths, and this weekend’s meeting is yet another chance for the attackers to feast.
Freiburg and Hoffenheim are fond of finding the back of the net when they come up against each other in this competition. They did this in eight of their last ten Bundesliga meetings, including the reverse fixture that ended in a 1-1 draw at Hoffenheim. Both teams are fighting for something after 30 matches – Freiburg want a top-six finish, while Hoffenheim want to avoid relegation, and a win for the visitors this weekend will see them achieve their goal. This weekend’s encounter will be captivating for everyone involved, including the spectators.
Freiburg vs Hoffenheim prediction: Both teams to score – yes
RB Leipzig to extend their winning run: RB Leipzig vs Holstein Kiel
Date: 19/04/2025
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
RB Leipzig can easily beat Holstein Kiel, and they will try to do so this weekend.
Both teams have only met once in the Bundesliga due to their involvement in the lower divisions, and that one time ended in a 2-0 win for the hosts. Both clubs met twice in the 3. Liga, and Leipzig won both matches, but when they competed in the Regionalliga North, both clubs shared the wins in four encounters. These meetings occurred more than a decade ago, so it would be prudent to determine a potential outcome based on either their most recent Bundesliga encounter or their previous five results. WI chose the former. RB Leipzig won their last two league matches and put themselves in a very good spot to finish in the top four, while Holstein Kiel are dwindling at the bottom of the standings. Based on their current form, we have backed the hosts to come away with an effortless win.
RB Leipzig vs Holstein Kiel prediction: Home team to win
Union Berlin to be cautioned at least three times: Union Berlin vs Stuttgart
- Date: 19/04/2025
- Kick-off: 18:30 CET
- Union Berlin make too many late and rash tackles when they come up against Stuttgart, and as a result, they get many warnings from the ref. We expect them to be ferocious in front of their fans this weekend.
Stuttgart and Union Berlin have met many times in the Bundesliga, and the former are always on the receiving end of rash tackles. The reverse leg ended with Union Berlin receiving six yellow cards. We checked their last five meetings with Stuttgart and saw that they averaged 2.8 yellow cards per game. The visitors’ playing style hasn’t changed, so we are tempted to back the hosts to receive at least three yellow cards this weekend. The outcome is a stretch, of course, but we are willing to risk it.
Union Berlin v Stuttgart prediction: Home team total yellow cards – over 2.5
Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt will exchange goals: Augsburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt
- Date: 20/04/2025
- Kick-off: 15:30 CET
- Goals are usually scored by both teams when they cross paths in this competition, so we can anticipate the same from the upcoming game.
Eintracht Frankfurt will participate in the Europa League on Thursday night when they host Tottenham, so we doubt they will be in full energy for their trip to Augsburg on Sunday. They struggle to keep a clean sheet against Augsburg even without midweek football, let alone facing them two days after European football. Both teams scored against each other in their last six league meetings, so we can lean on this weekend’s encounter to end similarly.
Augsburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction: Both teams to score – yes
Dortmund and Monchengladbach meetings will continue to be entertaining: Dortmund vs Monchengladbach
- Date: 20/04/2025
- Kick-off: 17:30 CET
- Both teams never cease to entertain fans with goals, and the upcoming game promises to be as entertaining as ever.
Dortmund believe they can still finish in the top four this term, and their result against Bayern Munich away from home last weekend is a big sign. They held the league leaders to a 2-2 draw, so what outcome would you expect from this weekend’s encounter with Monchengladbach, who are also in the race to finish in the top four? We expect both teams to play like they mean it and create many clear-cut chances. We guess that three or more goals will be scored in Dortmund this weekend, while some may anticipate goals from both teams. Either expectation is reasonable, as both teams scored against each other in their last five meetings, and over 2.5 goals were produced in five of their last six matches. Somehow, we think over 2.5 goals looks easier, thanks to the Yellow and Blacks’ attacking prowess.
Dortmund vs Monchengladbach prediction: Total goals – over 2.5
Bayer Leverkusen to do the league double: St. Pauli vs Bayer Leverkusen
- Date: 20/04/2025
- Kick-off: 19:30 CET
- Bayer Leverkusen haven’t lost a game to St. Pauli, and we don’t expect that to change this weekend.
Both teams met for the first time since 2011, in the Bundesliga last year, and the match ended in favour of Leverkusen (2-1). Bayer won both matches against St. Pauli during the 2010/11 season, and during the 2002 season, Bayer won the first meeting 3-1 at home and drew 2-2 away in the return leg. Xabi Alonso’s side hasn’t lost to St Pauli, so we can count on the reigning champions of Germany to bounce back to winning ways this weekend and keep the pressure on Bayern Munich at the top of the standings.
