Predictions for the 15th round of the Bundesliga, December 19-21

09 Feb, 13:35

Borussia Dortmund vs Borussia Mönchengladbach

The final, 15th round of the 2025 Bundesliga kicks off with a fantastic Friday fixture featuring two namesakes: at the "Signal Iduna Park," the two Borussias will face off, both of whom did not achieve the desired results in the last round. In recent head-to-head matches, the teams have delighted us with scoring actions from both sides, and we hope for a goal-filled pre-New Year celebration in Dortmund once again.

Match Prediction for Borussia Dortmund vs Borussia Mönchengladbach: Total Over 2.5 Goals

Stuttgart vs Hoffenheim

This match is arguably the most intriguing among all the Saturday Bundesliga games held in the first slot. Both teams have performed well in the first part of the season and are demonstrating high attacking efficiency, although not always as reliably in defense. Last season, the head-to-head meetings between the teams resulted in draws with goals on both sides twice. Considering the current form of the opponents, a repeat draw is not out of the question, but we expect a high number of goals due to the defensive issues of the equally matched teams, which Stuttgart and Hoffenheim currently are.

Match Prediction for Stuttgart vs Hoffenheim: Total Over 2.5 Goals

Augsburg vs Werder

Both teams suffered setbacks in the last round. While the "green-whites" have not won in the last four rounds, losing three of them, the "Fuggers" have secured two consecutive victories at the "WWK Arena." Therefore, it will be extremely difficult for the Bremen team to take three points, considering that Horst Steffen's team has also not won in their last five away matches. Moreover, Augsburg has not conceded more than one goal at home in five of their last six official matches.

Match Prediction for Augsburg vs Werder: Werder's Individual Total Under 1.5 Goals

Cologne vs Union

The "Billy Goats" have not won in five consecutive rounds, whereas the Berliners dealt with the second team of the championship, Leipzig (3:1), in the last round. In seven official home matches for Cologne since the start of the season, goals have been scored on both sides. Union has scored in six consecutive matches, so our choice seems obvious.

Match Prediction for Cologne vs Union: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

Wolfsburg vs Freiburg

The "Wolves" approach the match on a three-game unbeaten run and have won two consecutive championship matches for the first time this season. The "Brazilians from Breisgau" continue their unbeaten streak in home matches, but in the Bundesliga, Julian Schuster's team has not won away in five consecutive matches. Let's recall that in the last game at the "Volkswagen Arena," Wolfsburg ended their unfortunate streak of home matches without a win, which lasted 16 official games. Therefore, betting on Freiburg's victory, as it was last year, seems unreasonable, however, both clubs have shown decent scoring in their recent matches.

Match Prediction Wolfsburg vs Freiburg: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

Hamburg vs Eintracht

The "Dinosaurs" return home after a crushing defeat in Sinsheim (1:4), while the "Eagles" are coming off a hard-fought home victory against Augsburg (1:0). Hamburg has not lost in their last three home matches, securing two wins, and ranks among the top six teams in the division for home performance (4 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses). Eintracht has won only one of their last six matches across all competitions and is facing serious defensive issues, so we dare to suggest that the Frankfurt team will not take three points with them.

Match Prediction Hamburg vs Eintracht: Hamburg Will Not Lose

Leipzig vs Bayer

Another exciting Saturday fixture, deserving of its own broadcast time. Leipzig returns to the "Red Bull Arena" after an unexpected defeat in the capital against Union (1:3), but at home, Ole Werner's team has won all seven matches since the start of the season. The Leverkusen team arrives after a home victory in the "Rhine Derby" against Cologne (2:0) and, with success, can equal the "Red Bulls" in points before the break. Naturally, from a match of this level, we expect plenty of goal-scoring actions from both sides.

Match Prediction Leipzig vs Bayer: Total Over 2.5 Goals

Mainz vs St. Pauli

The bottom team of the championship nearly caused an upset in the last round, almost becoming the first club in the Bundesliga to hand Bayern their first defeat in the championship. However, they fell short in the final moments (2:2). St. Pauli continues its "recovery" and has gained four points in the previous two rounds. For Mainz, this is a good chance to reduce the gap to one point from their opponent, while for the "Pirates," it's an opportunity to increase their lead and try to escape the relegation zone. Given the vulnerability of both teams' defensive lines, we expect goals from each side.

Match Prediction Mainz vs St. Pauli: Both Teams to Score (Yes)

Heidenheim vs Bayern

The 15th round, like the entire German championship of 2025, concludes with a match between the underdog and the leader, where we expect a predictable outcome. Frank Schmidt's team lost to one of their direct competitors in the fight to stay in the Bundesliga in the last round, while Vincent Kompany's side played only their second draw in the current championship - with another Heidenheim opponent from the lower part of the table. However, this time we doubt that the Munich team will share their points.

Prediction for the match Heidenheim vs Bayern Munich: Bayern to win with a handicap (-2)
