Predictions for the 11th round of the Bundesliga, November 21-23

09 Feb, 13:35

Mainz vs Hoffenheim

The international break is over, and we head to the "MEWA Arena" to kick off the 11th round of the Bundesliga with a match between Mainz and Hoffenheim. The hosts have had a dreadful first third of the season, sitting second to last and having won only once. Hoffenheim, on the other hand, defeated Leipzig (3:1) at home in the last round and are currently on a four-match winning streak. The "blue-whites" have not lost a single away game this season (four wins and one draw). We'll see in what condition both clubs return after the international break, but it seems to us that the "blue-whites" will continue their unbeaten away streak.

Match Prediction for Mainz vs Hoffenheim: Hoffenheim will not lose

Heidenheim vs Borussia Mönchengladbach

Heidenheim remains the main candidate for relegation, as confirmed in the previous round in Leverkusen, conceding five goals in the first half and six in total. Gladbach is beginning its recovery: two consecutive wins, and interim coach Eugen Polanski has earned a full-time contract as the "Foals" head coach. Now he will head with the team for a third victory. Will they succeed? The hosts have not lost in three consecutive rounds at the "Voith Arena." However, we doubt that the "red-blue-whites" defense will be able to keep a clean sheet.

Match Prediction for Heidenheim vs Borussia Mönchengladbach: Borussia Mönchengladbach's individual total over 1.5 goals

Wolfsburg vs Bayer

Here comes the third managerial dismissal of the current Bundesliga season. After 10 rounds, the "Wolves" management decided to part ways with Paul Simonis, and Daniel Bauer is currently working with the first team on a temporary basis. Wolfsburg has only won twice in the league, was knocked out by an underdog in the German Cup, and is on a three-match losing streak. Bayer, after a thrashing in Munich (0:3), redeemed themselves with a Champions League victory over Benfica (1:0) and a home thrashing of Heidenheim (6:0). We won't risk predicting a winner in this match, but let's remind you: Wolfsburg has not won at home in 14 official matches in a row and has not beaten Leverkusen at the "Volkswagen Arena" in 9 consecutive matches.

Match Prediction for Wolfsburg vs Bayer: Bayer's individual total over 1.5 goals

Augsburg vs Hamburg

A battle of two championship outsiders, which is especially important for Sandro Wagner. Augsburg has lost the last four matches and was knocked out of the German Cup. We assume that another defeat might force the "Fuggers" management to make the fourth managerial dismissal of the season. Merlin Polzin is not facing such a fate yet: Hamburg has returned to the Bundesliga after 7 years, and things are not all bad for the "City Dwellers." However, they haven't won in the league for four rounds, although...The hard-fought home draw with Borussia Dortmund in the last round should boost the team's confidence before their trip to the "WWK Arena." However, Hamburg scores very few goals.

Match Prediction for Augsburg vs. Hamburg: Hamburg's individual total under 1.5 goals

Bayern Munich vs Freiburg

It happened: in the last round, Bayern Munich did not win a match for the first time this season. The main thing is they didn't lose, although they were trailing twice during the game. It was bound to happen at some point, and perhaps it's no coincidence it happened in Berlin (we find a certain symbolism in this). We do not believe the hosts are starting to decline and are confident in their home victory over Freiburg, who have not lost in four consecutive games. This season at the "Allianz Arena," all opponents have been dominated by the Munich team.

Match Prediction for Bayern Munich vs. Freiburg: Bayern to win with a handicap of (-1.5)

Borussia Dortmund vs. Stuttgart

In our editorial opinion, this is the central match of the 11th round. We are in for a duel between the third and fourth teams of the championship. Both risk falling below the Champions League zone if they drop points. Borussia played their last two matches away: in the Champions League, they faced Pep Guardiola's Manchester City (1:4), and in the championship, the "Bumblebees" slipped up, losing two points after conceding a goal from the debutant Hamburg in the referee's added time (1:1). Stuttgart is excellent at home, having won all five matches, but away, the "Swabians" often lose and have yet to draw. We doubt that parity will arise now. Dortmund has not lost to anyone this season at the "Westfalenstadion."

Match Prediction for Borussia Dortmund vs. Stuttgart: Borussia Dortmund to win

Cologne vs. Eintracht

This matchup also seems intriguing to us. Cologne, having returned to the elite, demonstrates bold attacking combination play, especially at the "RheinEnergieStadion." Eintracht, on the other hand, has been surprisingly unproductive in the last five rounds but plays significantly more reliably in defense. The first 11 matches of the "Eagles" had a total over 2.5, but the last five had a total under 2.5. We expect both teams to continue their trends: the "Billy Goats" score in all home matches, and the "Eagles" have never left away stadiums without scoring.

Match Prediction for Cologne vs Eintracht: total over 2.5 goals

Leipzig vs Werder

On Sunday in Leipzig, the "Red Bulls" will meet Bremen's Werder. In the last round, the hosts' nine-match unbeaten streak was broken – Ole Werner's team lost away to Hoffenheim (1:3). Horst Steffen's "Musicians" are on a five-match unbeaten run, but continuing it at the "Red Bull Arena" will be extremely

It's not easy: Leipzig has won all their home matches this season. Moreover, Werder has only managed to avoid defeat in Leipzig once in their history.

Match Prediction for Leipzig vs Werder: Leipzig to win

St. Pauli vs Union

The round concludes with an evening match in Hamburg, where St. Pauli will host Union. The hosts have lost seven matches in a row – the worst streak after ten rounds. Union, on the other hand, nearly defeated Bayern in Berlin in the last round, conceding a frustrating goal at the end (2:2). Steffen Baumgart's team has drawn their last three matches (including the regular time of the cup match against Arminia Bielefeld), and we anticipate that this away game for the Berliners will not go without earning points.

Match Prediction for St. Pauli vs Union: Union will not lose
