Predictions for the 10th round of the Bundesliga, November 7-9

09 Feb, 13:35

Werder vs Wolfsburg

The tenth round of the Bundesliga kicks off on Friday evening at the “Weserstadion,” where Werder, unbeaten in four consecutive matches, hosts Wolfsburg, who are facing significant challenges. The Bremen side has won their last two home games with clean sheets and by a narrow margin. Paul Simonis is on the brink of a possible dismissal as the “Wolves” have already suffered five defeats and were knocked out early in the German Cup by an underdog. We anticipate a “low-scoring” result in this game, as has been the case in the last six head-to-head matches at the “Weserstadion.”

Match Prediction for Werder vs Wolfsburg: total under 3.5 goals

Bayer vs Heidenheim

After a thrashing in Munich (0:3), Bayer redeemed themselves with a hard-fought away victory in the Champions League against Benfica (1:0). Heidenheim continues to pick up points mainly at home, suffering all their defeats on the road. Previously at the “BayArena,” the visitors have twice lost by a large margin. We think not much will change this time.

Match Prediction for Bayer vs Heidenheim: Bayer to win with a handicap (-1)

Union vs Bayern

It’s hard to imagine how Union can stop Bayern on their way to the 17th victory of the season. The Berliners played a goalless draw with Freiburg at “An der Alten Försterei” in the last round. The Munich machine dismantled Bayer in the first half (3:0) last Saturday, using squad rotation, and on Tuesday defeated the reigning Champions League holders PSG in Paris (2:1). Bayern will be ruthless in Berlin.

Match Prediction for Union vs Bayern: Bayern to win with a handicap (-1.5)

Hamburg vs Borussia Dortmund

The “Citizens” return to the “Volksparkstadion” after a crushing defeat in Cologne (1:4) to face Borussia Dortmund. Merlin Polzin’s side has suffered three consecutive defeats, and how they will cope with Kovac's team, which is performing well in the Bundesliga and chasing Leipzig and Bayern, is decidedly unclear. Meanwhile, the “Bees” were heavily defeated midweek in England by Manchester City (1:4). Both teams have something to prove to their fans, but the visitors are, of course, the favorites.

Match Prediction for Hamburg vs Borussia Dortmund: Borussia Dortmund to win

Hoffenheim vs Leipzig

In our opinion, this is one of the most intriguing fixtures of the tenth round. “Hoffe” is on a three-match winning streak in the league and is playing very attractively – the “blue-whites” could contend for a top-4 finish if they win this round. Ole Werner's Leipzig is performing excellently – nine matches unbeaten, eight of which ended in victory. Last season, the “Red Bulls” lost in Sinsheim. Currently, we are impressed by Leipzig's results and anticipate that his unbeaten streak will continue.

Match Prediction for Hoffenheim vs Leipzig: Leipzig will not lose

Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Cologne

Finally, we can congratulate the "Foals" on their first victory in the current championship! After a crushing away win over St. Pauli (4:0), the Gladbach team has left the last place and can breathe a little easier. They are motivated ahead of the match against Cologne, who are also in good form: in the last round, they defeated Hamburg (4:1) and are confidently holding their position in the upper half of the table. The "Billy Goats" will not let the "Foals" have it easy.

Match Prediction for Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Cologne: over 2.5 goals

Freiburg vs St. Pauli

Julian Schuster's squad, after losing to Bayer (0:2), has started another unbeaten streak: they advanced to the next round of the German Cup, played a goalless draw with Union in Berlin, and on Thursday defeated Nice in the Europa League (3:1). The visitors from Hamburg are in a very poor state: Alexander Blessin's team has lost six consecutive league matches with an aggregate score of 1:14. Freiburg's last two matches at the "Europa-Park Stadion" ended in draws. It's time to change that, considering the "bloodied" state of St. Pauli.

Prediction for Freiburg vs St. Pauli: Freiburg to win

Stuttgart vs Augsburg

Despite the defeat in the last round in Leipzig against their main rival (1:3), the "Swabians" continue to perform confidently at their home "MHP Arena". On Thursday, Sebastian Hoeneß's team defeated Feyenoord in the Europa League – marking their sixth consecutive home victory. Augsburg, led by Sandro Wagner, whose coaching position is "hanging by a thread," will be visiting. Fans are demanding the young specialist's resignation, and it's understandable: the team has six losses in nine rounds, as well as an early exit from the German Cup at the hands of a Second Bundesliga team. The head-to-head history is also in favor of the "Swabians" – Stuttgart has not lost to Augsburg in eight consecutive matches, winning seven of them, including the last five.

Match Prediction for Stuttgart vs Augsburg: Stuttgart to win

Eintracht vs Mainz

Dino Toppmöller has done significant work with his coaching staff to improve the defensive actions of the "Eagles": Eintracht has conceded only two goals in the last four matches. Not long ago, conceding two per game was the norm for the Frankfurt team. Mainz, who have been performing poorly in the Bundesliga but confidently in the Conference League, winning match after match, are coming to the "Deutsche Bank Park". Eintracht has not won in seven of the last eight matches and has fallen behind the leading trio in the championship, so they need to defeat the "severely wounded" Mainz.Mainz, which has earned only one point in the last five rounds.

Prediction for the Eintracht vs Mainz match: Eintracht's individual total over 1.5 goals
