Olympiacos defeated arch-rivals Panathinaikos 3-2 in last season's final series, winning the decisive fifth game at home 89:85 and claiming the 16th title in club history. Head coach Georgios Bartzokas remains in charge, so the team keeps the coaching system that delivered the championship.
The summer reinforcements came specifically in the backcourt, with Jean Montero and Cody Miller-McIntyre adding more options in organizing the offense.
