The Most Successful Team in WNBA History
Minnesota Lynx, Seattle Storm and Houston Comets have won the WNBA championship more often than any other teams, with four titles each. The Comets won the first four championships in WNBA history but ceased operations in 2008. However, starting with the 2027 season, the team will return to the league — the owners of the Houston Rockets men's team decided to purchase the Connecticut Sun, relocate the team to Texas and rename it the Houston Comets.
Four other clubs have won the WNBA three times — Phoenix Mercury, Los Angeles Sparks, Detroit Shock (now Dallas Wings) and Las Vegas Aces (formerly San Antonio Silver Stars).
Who Has Reached the WNBA Finals Most Often
Minnesota Lynx remain the only team to have reached the decisive WNBA playoff series seven times. Phoenix Mercury and New York Liberty have each made the Finals six times.
